I bought a few new purchases the other day (pay day madness) and thought that I would use them in a short tutorial. Again, once this goes live, I will place them into my wantfeed if you would like to view them.
This tutorial is a very pretty everyday, neutral makeup look.
For the face, I used my current favourite foundation which is the Nars Sheer Glow, buffing that into the skin with a fluffy buffing brush. Next I applied the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer on any blemishes and under my eyes. I’ve just finished night shifts so my sleep pattern is a bit skew-whiff, making under-eye circles a very real problem lately!
For bronzer, I used the Body Shop’s Honey Bronzer to lightly darken my cheek bones and jawline. This is a really natural looking bronzer for anybody with fair complexions.
For blush, I used my new blush from the Body Shop. I used the Sorbet Blush in Tuscan Grape by lightly applying it to the cheek area with my fingers. This is a very wet product so a little went a long way. It does apply quite sheer, but could be built up over time.
I then applied the Bare Minerals Bareskin Perfecting Veil lightly over my face to lock everything into place.
For my eyes, I first filled in my brows with the L’Oreal Brow Artist Genius Kit, applying the power in tiny motions over my brow hairs. I then brushed a small coat of the Maybelline Brow Drama Mascara over this to set the hairs in place.
For the eyeshadow base, I used the new Maybelline Creamy Matte Eyeshadow, Creme De Rose over the lid. This applied really well and looked gorgeous on it’s own.
Next I used my Stila Eyes are the Window: Soul palette. I took the shade Heart and dusted this all over the lid, blending into the crease. I then took the shade Being to add a touch more definition to my crease. I took a touch of the shade Thought on my little finger and patted that over the top of the matte eyeshadows, concentrating the most of the product in the centre of the lid. Finally, I took the shade Kitten on a smudger brush, applying to the inner corner.
Along the bottom lash line, I took the shades Being and Thought, lightly applying a thin line along the entire lash line.
For eyeliner, I used the Body Shop’s Vitamin E Face Mist to dampen the shade Essence on a liner brush. This creates a very smooth line that will last a very long time.
Finally, I applied mascara. I used two today. On the top lashes I used the Bare Minerals Lash Domination mascara, and on the bottom lashes I used Benefit’s Roller Lash mascara.
For the lips, I kept things as light as possible. I first used the Bare Minerals Marvelous Moxie Lipstick in Speak Your Mind, applying it straight from the bullet.
I then used the Bare Minerals Top Coat in Pearl Glaze to give my lips more of a glossy look. I think this is technically part of the Marvelous Moxie collection but it was a limited edition one. Still really pretty.
And that’s the finished look. I hope you like it; I certainly do. I think I really am going to enjoy using these products a lot in the near future.
Bye for now!
