Classic Cat Flick Eyeliner and Neutral Lips Tutorial

Hi guys!

I have wanted to do a cat flick eyeliner look for a little while now, but the honest truth is that I’m crap at it!

However, today I used a slightly different technique so I thought I would share today’s look with you.

For my face I used a slightly different technique to apply my foundation and councealer. I first applied where I wanted my concealer to go but didn’t blend it into the skin. I then applied my foundation in sweeps around my face with a flat foundation brush; again, I didn’t blend it in. It kinda looked like a toddler had smothered me with foundation! I then buffed the products into my skin with a buffing brush. This gave a more flawless finish and the concealer blended better into the foundation.

To set this in place I used my Bare Minerals Loose Concealer on a fluffy brush, and swept this over areas that I’d applied my concealer.

For bronzer, I dusted my Body Shop Honey Bronzer over my cheek bones, jawline and forehead. I only need a small amount to shape my face at the moment.

For blush, I first applied the Body Shop’s Sorbet Blush in Tuscan Grape using a tapping motion with my fingers. It seems the best way to apply this without removing any foundation. Over this blush I applied Benefit’s Rockateur blush to add a bit more colour. Together these looked gorgeous.

To set everything in place, I buffed a light layer of Bare Minerals Bareskin Perfecting Veil around my face.

For the eyes, I first filled in my brows with my Maybelline Brow Satin (will I ever use anything else?) using both the darker shade along the brow bone and the lighter shade to fill in the brow.

On the lid, I first applied Maybelline’s Creamy Matte Eyeshadow in Creme de Rose over the entire eyelid up to the brow. This shade is actually a good dupe for MAC’s Painterly with a slight dusty pink tone.

I then took the Stila Eyes are the Window Palette: Soul and used the shade Heart over my lid, blending softly into the crease. To add definition I used tiny amounts of Character building up to a gorgeous shade in the crease. I applied both of these shades to my bottom lash line too.

For the actual liner, I took a soft liner brush and placed it into the shade Essence from the palette. Taking Body Shop’s Vitamin E Face Mist, I spritzed both the shadow and brush until both were slightly wet. This gives a gorgeous eyeliner. I first applied the flick in a small line on both sides of my eyes then matched this up with a thicker line which followed my lash line. Using an eyeshadow as my liner was a lot more fluid than some other product that I’ve used. I loved the finish.

To finish off the eyes I used a few generous layers of the Bare Mineral’s Lash Domination mascara on my top lashes. For bottom lashes I used the tiny Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara. This catches every little lash really well without clumping.

For the lids, I first filled them in with the No7 Precision Liner in Paprika, which has a more reddish brick tone. I then went over this with my Bare Minerals Marvelous Moxie lipstick in Speak Your Mind. Together these gave a very soft pink shade. I loved it.

And that is the finished look guys. Hope you liked it, and have a go at trying that liner technique yourselves. It was really easy.

Bye for now!
