Femme Fatale Makeup Tutorial

Hi guys!

I tried something slightly different today and created this very pale skin, dark lips and eyes makeup look. It looked very femme fatale, so I thought that it would be a good one for Halloween costumes.

To start with I blended the Benefit Porefessional primer to blur out any fine lines and pores. Over this I used my Too Faced Born This Way Foundation, blending it in with a buffing brush. I concealed under my eyes using the Maybelline Erase Eye. I finally set all the base in place with my Bare Minerals Bareskin Perfecting Veil.

To give my face some definition, I used my favourite bronzer, Body Shop’s Honey Bronzing Powder in Light Matte, applying this softly under my cheek bones and along my forehead and jawline. For blush, I applied a loose Bare Minerals blush in the shade Joyous Jennifer. This is quite a scary shade, but looks really pretty blended out.

I wanted the eyes to be really intense and dark, so I built up a lot of black. I first used Smashbox’s 24hr Eyeshadow Primer on my eyelids and waited for this to dry. Whilst drying, I filled in my eyebrows using the Benefit Brow Zings.

The first eyeshadow that I used was from the Stila Eyes are the Window Soul palette, taking the shade Essence all over the lid, creating a slight triangle on the outer edge of the eye. I then blended this out to soften the edge. I took this shade along the lower lash line too.

To intensify the blackness, I then went over the shadow with the matte black shade from the Clinique Wear Everywhere Greys palette. This was also blended out to soften the crease. I then added the taupe shade from this palette using my finger on the main part of my lid, and the whitest shade to the inner corner.

Before adding liquid liner, I tightlined my upper lash line with MAC’s Feline Eyeliner. I then used Rimmel’s Exaggerate Liner in Nude. I then added the liquid liner, L’Oreal Superliner in Black.

To finish the eyes I used lashings of the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara.

To start the lips, I decided to line them with a new release from Rimmel. They’ve added some new colours to the Exaggerate Lip Liner range. One of them is a gorgeous plum shade called Under My Spell. I filled in the entire lips with this colour.

I then went over this with the lipstick that inspired this look; Smashbox’s Be Legendary Matte Lipstick in Femme Fatale. To give it a glossy finish I added a touch of Smashbox O-Gloss.

And that is the entire look. What do you think of my attempt at a completely black eyeshadow look? What should I do next?

Bye for now!
