Hi; how are you today?
Today’s review is about a product that has been out a little while now, I just haven’t tried them out until now. Let’s just add these to my massive stash of lip products!
Bourjois’ Rouge Edition Velvet were released first, and these are a matte formula. They retail at £8.99 and claim to last up to 8hrs. Hmm.
The other formula is the Aqua Laque which to me, seems like a standard lipgloss when I was testing it, but the colour was gorgeous. Again, these retail at £8.99.
Both products come in a sleek clear bottle, with a lid that matches the colour inside the pot; ideal for us girls in a hurry in the morning.
The product themselves varies on the colour that you have and the formula. Overall the Velevet formulas are my favourite. They apply really smoothly and do last a long time; although not the advertised 8 hours. The smooth application also makes it an ideal base for lipsticks, if you did want to prime your lids with a colour before a sheer lipstick. However, the darker shades can appear a bit bitty so need a bit extra care when applying to the lips. I love the shade ‘Grand Cru,’ but it was such a faff compared to ‘Nude-ist’ and So ‘Hap’pink’.
The Aqua Laque formula is also really lovely, but it’s no different to any other lipgloss. It doesn’t stand out. This isn’t a bad thing but I was expecting a little bit more. However, this also has a non-sticky formula making it a near dupe of the Nars Lipgloss range (nearly).
Left to right: 04- Vien si tu Roses (Aqua), 08- Grand Cru (Velvet), 11- So Hap’pink (Velvet), 07- Nude-ist (Velvet)
Overall, these are a lovely addition to my lipstick collection, and I plan on using them a lot over the next few months.
What do you think of this product? What shades do you have if you have tried them?
Bye for now!
