Revlon Colorburst Collection Review

Hi guys!
I am always on the hunt for new everyday lip products that don’t feel greasy on the lips. I have tried Bourjois’  and Clinique’s version of these, which have been out a lot longer and didn’t get on with them. I found both products very slippery and dried out my lips. Which was such a disappointment; I wanted to love them!

It did put me off buying anything similar for a long time even after I heard that Revlon had released their lip crayons, and had raving reviews.

I thought I’d buy one or two for my holiday this month just to try out and I actually love them. I’ve bought a fair few since and for the purpose of this review I have at least 2 of each. You’ll soon see which finish is my favourite!

PS- I know that the lip butters are technically part of the collection, but I wanted to concentrate on the crayon formulas.

Balm Stains

wpid-2015-10-24-10.36.30.jpg.jpegLeft to Right: Romantic, Honey, Crush
The balm stain collection are very glossy but have an amazing staying power that lasts a few hours at least. The application reminds me a lot of the Marvelous Moxie Lipglosses. They seem to plump the lips and taste very minty. The colour payout is very sheer with just a hint of colour, although the darker ones can be built up slightly without getting ‘butter-lips’. My favourite one is still ‘Honey.’ It’s a very wearable everyday colour.

Lacquer Balm

Left to Right: Enticing, Provocateur, Coquette

These are tinted lip balms. In texture, they’re very similar to the Balm Stains, but don’t have the staying power of the Balm Stains. However they are highly pigmented from the first swipe. They still taste of mint and look so beautiful and glossy on the lips. They don’t feel sticky either, which was my main issue with the Bourjois lip crayons. My favourite at the moment is probably the darker red, ‘Enticing.’

Matte Balm

Left to Right: Elusive, Fiery

As the name suggests, these are a matte lip crayon. The colour is highly pigmented and long lasting. The colours are highly pigmented and do last a long time when applied. Although these are matte lip products, they don’t feel as drying on the lips as some other matte products, and apply really smoothly. Although not my favourite formula, I do still like them. I like both shades that I have, although if I did have to pick a favourite, it would be ‘Fiery.’ It has a slightly glossier finish.

I know that I’ve been a little late to the party with these, but these have converted me to the idea of lip crayons and Revlon as a brand for lip products.

Thanks for reading!
