October Favourites

Hi guys!

It’s that time of the month again where I rave about all of the things that I have been loving this month in the world of beauty, fashion and entertainment.

There’s a fair few things this month so I’d best get on with it!

Tangle Teezer: I was recommended this by my friend Lynz and it is amazing for getting tangles out of thin hair without releasing any harsh swear words from my mouth. I don’t know how it does it, but it’s awesome at getting out even the tightest tangles.

Sophie Kinsella ‘Can You Keep a Secret?’: I’ve read a couple of books this month, and I will write of a ‘What Have I Been Reading Post’ soon for these, but this has been the one that I have enjoyed the most. Like all of Sophie’s books this one is so funny and you can relate to the main character in so many ways. I love it! It’s about a girl, Emma who has that many secrets from her boyfriend (who in my opinion is the wettest drip ever created for entertainment), but she gets drunk and under the influence of really bad turbulance on an airplane, tells them to the stranger next to her (who just happens to be the CEO of her company). Eek! Hilarity ensues. You honestly have to read it! I couldn’t put it down.

Maybelline Erase Eye Concealer: This is an oldie but a goodie. I have been using thinner consistency foundations, so my thicker Rimmel and Nars concealers just haven’t looked right with them. I decided to go back to this old favourite and I’m glad that I did. It’s great for under eye circles and doesn’t cake in any unflattering places. It’s truly lovely.

Nars Lipgloss in Baby Doll: I have used this lipgloss a lot lately. It was bought alongside ‘Anna’ last month to wear with that, but I have worn it over the top of a lot of Mauve coloured lipsticks this month to give them a boost of something extra. I love it’s non-sticky texture and the colour is beautiful. I doubt that I could afford to purchase these regularly (it is Nars afterall) but it was a nice treat.

Clinique Wear Everywhere Palettes: Would you have guessed that these would have made it into my favourites? I think that they’ve appeared in most of my instagram photos the last two months. I have the ‘Greys,’ ‘Nudes’ and ‘Greens’ palettes, and I love the quality of these eyeshadows. They are amazing! They have a beautiful buttery texture that blends really well onto the lids. They are truly lovely products, which will be coming with me on holiday.

Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in ‘Nude-ist’: Want a long-lasting matte liquid lipstick. This one is your guy! Some of the other Rouge Velvets don’t last very long on me (Red Pepper lasted about two hours) but this one was amazing. It’s a ‘your lips but better’ shade on me, but on others it may look very neutral. It’s worth trying out to see how it adapts to your skin tone. I love it for days where I don’t fancy too much colour on the lips, but still fancy a hint of something.

Clinique Chubby Lash Mascara: I finally got this to work and I love it. It does add much needed length to my lashes and the touch of colour it gives is really nice. The formula doesn’t smudge on me either, which is an added bonus.

Clinique Colour Pop Lipstick in ‘Plum Pop’: Another Clinique product? Yes, I have slowly been warming up to Clinique as a brand again. This lipstick is gorgeous and for a glossier finish lipstick, it is surprisingly long lasting. I love the colour of this one; it’s just such a nice natural pink shade.

Revlon Colorburst Balm Stain in ‘Honey’: I know I only discovered these at the end of the month, but I love this shade enough to place it in my favourites. It is a beautiful non-sticky gloss crayon with a long lasting colour. It is very sheer, but enhances the natural colour of your lips beautifully. I love it. I am a convert.

Maybelline Colour Tattoo Creamy Mattes: I do love the Colour Tattoo eyeshadows in general, but these two new editions are amazing. They are a matte quality, which makes them great primers for eyeshadows. Being flesh shades also gives them the added quality of cancelling out any redness in the eyelids. In texture, they remind me of MAC’s Paintpots, which are my usual eyeshadow primers. They are just as good, but at a fraction of the price. Amazing!

Benefit Porefessional Primer: I bought this at the end of last month and I have missed it as a primer. It blurs out any pores or fine lines, as well as giving a nice even surface for foundation to stick to. Love it!

Attack on Titan: It’s probably good that I’ve discovered this series when I did. I haven’t got as long to wait for season 2 as some of the original fans of this show. It is awesome! It’s a dystopian future where giants (titans) have wiped out the majority of humanity. What remains of us are living behind 50m high walls. They’ve been safe for 100 years until a giant Colossal Titan shows up and breaks the wall down. It’s very brutal but I love it. Seriously, this could give Game of Thrones a run for it’s money!

Body Shop Honey Bronzing Powder in ‘Light Matte’: Another staple product for me. This bronzer is my holy grail bronzer. With it being matte, it is perfect for contouring, and is an amazing bronzer for lighter skin tones. I remember being told when these were first released that they were designed to suit fairer complexions since most bronzers can look orange on them. These do have more of a neutral base, so do look more natural on the skin compared to other bronzers that I’ve tried.

Smashbox Be legendary Lipstick in ‘Matte Mauve’: I love this colour. It is a lighter pink, but not too pink to be considered Barbie pink. I love it, and with it being matte, it’s super long lasting, yet has a hydrating aspect that won’t dry out your lips. Just make sure that you exfoliate your lips first. This can cling to dry skin otherwise.

Lip Combo: Smashbox Be Legendary Lipstick in ‘Femme Fatale’ with Revlon Colorburst Balm Stain in ‘Crush’: These two colours compliment each other perfectly. ‘Femme Fatale’ is a very beautiful dark wine shade, and is matte. It looks gorgeous on it’s own, but with ‘Crush’ over the top, it adds that something extra. It’s a combo that I have been loving in the last few days of October.

MAC Cremesheen Lipstick in ‘Hot Gossip’: The MAC obsession continues. Although this will be my last one for a while. I am avoiding the Metro Centre now. I have far too many lip products! ‘Hot Gossip’ is a beautiful lip pink. It’s actually a good match for the Smashbox ‘Matte Mauve,’ but with a gloss finish. Love it!

Meaghan Trainor- Better When I’m Dancin’: And I’ll finish off with a music favourite. Meaghan Trainor has released her newest single for ‘The Peanuts Movie.’ I don’t know what the song has to do with Snoopy, but it’s really catchy and my favourite one of her songs to date. You can’t help but dance to it either.

So those are all of my favourites this month. What have you been loving this month?

Bye for now!

Lol. I don’t think I’ve seen escaflowne yet, but I have watched too many and still can’t choose my favorites. Well that’s a lie, I really like initial D, I’ve seen it more than 10 times by now (I’m currently watching it again, lol) it’s about cars. I’m not sure what you’re into but I also liked Nana (you can catch it on Netflix). I’ve been wanting to write a post about this anime because when I saw it, and when I read it, I felt it was relatable (to an extent of course) look at me rambling you can tell I love anime lol

If you’re not into cars you won’t like initial d. Lol. Oooh I see. Then have you seen knights of Cydonia? It’s also on Netflix. (It’s a Netflix original). It’s about how humanity was forced to flee planet earth due to the Gauna (some alien creatures) attacking earth.

I liked it a lot! They do encounter Gauna as the show progresses and fight it which is awesome. The second season already came out earlier this year so you won’t have to wait like I did! Lol. When it first came out my husband and I watched the first season within a week. Lol.
