Tonight I woke up that little bit earlier (damn delivery men) so I had a bit extra time to get ready. I thought that I would have a good play at layering up colours on my eyes and lips. I thought that I would do this post like a mini tutorial since so many colours in the Vice 4 Palette were used.
I applied a Benefit’s Porefessional first before using my Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation. Since this foundation gives such good coverage, I only used a tiny amount of the matching concealer under my eyes. To set everything in place, I used Maybelline’s Fit Me Powder. It’s not the best product if I’m honest, but it’s all I’ve got with my usual powder being currently packed.
To add some definition, I used the lighter bronzer in the Bare Minerals California Bronze palette to contour my cheek bones, buffing this in a figure of three on both sides of my face. I then used MAC’s Melba blush on the apples of my cheeks, blending upwards, then I took the highlighter shade from California Bronze over my cheek bones.
Here’s where I had some fun. I defined my eyebrows using Freedom’s Eyebrow Pomade in Ash Brown, blending until it spread evenly. Then, to prime my eyes I used MAC’s Paintpot in the shade Painterly.
I then took Urban Decay’s Vice 4 palette and used the shade Framed all over the eyelid, up to the brow bone. Then, taking the shades Bitter and Delete, I blended these into the crease using the fluffy end of the brush that comes in the palette.
Next, I took the shade Beat Down and blended this into the crease, concentrating the most colour in the outer corner. I then patted the shade Harlot all over the lid, blending out the crease with a fluffy brush to prevent any harsh edges. In the outer corner I added the shade Underhand. On the upper lash line I used the shade Pandemonium and blended this out softly.
Along the lower lash line, I used the shades Pandemonium, Underhand and Harlot, bringing the darker shade in the outer corner and the lighter in the inner corner as a gradient of purple. The finish was a subtle purple smoky eye. Depending on what your definition of subtle is of course!
To finish the eyes, I used Barry M’s Showgirl Extra Lengthening Mascara on my upper and lower lashes. Finally I took the shade Bones on my brow bone to add a touch of highlight.
So that’s eight shades used from one palette!
For my lips, I first used the No7 Precision Liner in Soft Blush, blending this into the whole lip. Over this I used the Bourjois Rouge Velvet in Grand Cru to make the lips bolder. Finally, I used one of my favourite liquid lipsticks from Estee Lauders Pure Color Collection (Lip Lacque) in the shade Vinyl Rose. It’s a beautiful, long lasting glossy lipstick.
And that is the finished look. I’ve only got two more night shifts until my holiday. I can’t wait now!
Hope you all have a lovely Friday night.
Bye for now!
