Everybody has probably seen this magazine’s cover somewhere on the internet over the past few weeks. Tanya Burr was on the cover of the UK edition of Glamour Magazine this month. She looks absolutely gorgeous, but very different to how she would normally do her makeup.
So, I thought that I would attempt to replicate the makeup and hair shown on the front cover.
For the base, I used Bare Minerals Prime Time Neutralising Primer. My skin is a little red and blotchy in the winter, so this evened out my skin tone. Once this had set, I used my No7 Airbrush Away foundation. This gives a semi-matte finish which I love. Under my eyes, I patted a little Maybelline Erase Eye Concealer.
Tanya’s cheek bones are very heavily bronzed in these pictures, so my usual bronzer wasn’t going to be dark enough. I decided to go with Bare Minerals California Bronze Palette, taking the far left shade on my cheek bones and blending upwards towards my temple. Although Tanya doesn’t appear to have blush, I wanted some, so I used Benefit’s Rockateur. I love this colour in the Winter! To highlight my cheek bone, I used the middle shade from California Bronze in the C-shape along my cheek bone and brow bone.
To set everything in place, I used a fair bit of the Maybelline Fit Me Powder.
I began the eyes by filling in my eyebrows. The camera hasn’t picked it up that well, but I added a fair bit more Benefit Brow Zings powder than I normally would, making them appear darker.
For eyeshadow, I did fuck up slightly on my left eye. Luckily this is the eye covered by my fringe! However, here’s how I did the much better right eye.
I took the shade ‘Noir’ from the Smashbox Double Exposure palette, patting this on the lid and blending this out and upwards to the outer corner, where I’d aligned a tissue to my brow to create the neat line at the outer edge. I cleaned up the crease using a clean fluffy brush.
I then tightlined the waterline using a Bare Minerals Lasting Liner in ‘Absolute Black’ and took the MAC Kohl Liner in ‘Ebony’ and smudged this out along the upper lash line. Along my lower lash line I took more of ‘Noir’ on a tiny pencil brush and smudge this out slightly.
To finish off the eyes, I used lashings of Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara. I’ve found that false lashes do affect my eyes, so I had to leave these off. Although I think I remember Tanya saying that they didn’t add falsies in the shoot anyway.
My lips are a slightly darker undertone than Tanya’s so the nude lipstick I picked actually turned out darker than expected. I went for the Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in ‘Just So.’
And that is the finished makeup. To sort the hair, I swept my hair completely to the left, making my fringe blend in with the rest of the hair and used my fingers to mess it up slightly. This effectively hid the dodgy eye.
How do you think I did?
Bye for for now!
