What have I been reading on holiday?

Hi guys!

I am loving my holiday so far! It has involved a lot of long walks, amazing food and sunbathing. Perfection!

So when I have been relaxing by the pool or on the beach, I tend to read a lot. So far I have read two books. Both have been quite easy reads and I have loved them both.

I thought that I would review both of them today.

Madeline Whickham- The Wedding Girl
Okay, so this one involves a young woman about to marry her boyfriend in the wedding of the century. However, she’s already married to her gay friend. She hasn’t seen him since the marriage and now has to track him down two days before the wedding.

I have loved this book so much. It is written  in a different style to the Sophie Kinsella books (also Madeline Whickham). This one follows the very complicated lives of the different characters from millie,  the bride to the gay groom’s ex lover to the current boyfriend’s relationship to his father. It has its funny moments but this is such an emotional story and feels so real. I did cry at times, which was hard to explain to my sister on the airplane.  Oh dear!

I finished this one in four hours. I couldn’t put it down. If you do want an easy read, give this one a try.

Cecelia Ahern- The Year I Met You
This one is different to the Wedding Girl.
This follows Jasmine through the year that she gets fired and her struggle to come to terms with the real her.
I’m only halfway through this but I am loving it. Even though the title feels like it should be a love story, from what I’ve read so far it’s not. Jasmine has some very complicated feelings regarding her family and feels very real. I will get back to you once I have finished it but it’s lovely so far.

And those are all of the books that I have read so far on my holiday. No doubt there will be more. I read a lot anyway, let alone on holiday.

What have you been reading lately?
Bye for now!
Xxx
