I had a bit of fun with some eyeshadow today and created a very glittery eye makeup look.
Here’s how I got this look.
For the face I used my Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation and buffed this quite generously into the skin. I wanted this to be quite a full coverage look. Luckily this foundation does layer up quite nicely.
I then applied some YSL Touche Eclat under my eyes to hide my dark under eye circles. I blended this in using my fingers. I set the foundation and concealer in place using Charlotte Tilbury’s Airbrush Flawless Finish Powder. This is such a beautiful powder and deserves all the hype that it gets.
For bronzer, I’m back to using my old favourite; Body Shop’s Honey Bronzing Powder; buffing this into my cheek bones and across my jawline. For blush I used the gorgeous Urban Decay Afterglow Blush in ‘Rapture.’ I’m not the biggest user of highlighter, but since it is new year’s eve I went all out with Bare Mineral’s Secret Radiance. This was limited edition, but they do have similar champagne highlighters in the main collection. I applied this to my cheek bones using a fan brush.
Since I am doing a very intense eye look I wanted my brows to look a bit bolder. I filled them in with my trusty Benefit Brow Zings and set them with the Benefit Gimme Brow.
As for the actual eyes, I first used a touch of ‘Framed’ from the Urban Decay Vice 4 Palette to prime my lids. Then taking the darker shade from Nars’ Charade Duo I blended this into my crease. I then took the lighter shade across the lid. To darken the crease further I used the glittery purple from Nars’ Kauai Duo on a fluffy blending brush and added this to my crease, adding tiny bits to build up the colour. On the lid, I then took the light glittery green on a flat, dampened shadow brush and patted this onto the lid. I blended out the edge slightly to soften.
On the brow bone I added a touch of Nars The Multiples in ‘Copacabana’ using my fingers.
To tightline my eyes I used Urban Decay’s 24/4 Glide On Velvet Liner in ‘Minx’ on both the lower and upper lash line. Then I added a very dramatic (for me) cat eye flick using a L’Oreal Precision Slim Liquid Liner. I didn’t really like this as it creased quite badly, but I think it is just going to take practice.
After curling my lashes I added a fair few layers of Charlotte Tilbury’s Full Fat Lashes, and topped it with a coat of Clinique’s Chubby Lash in ‘Two Ton Teal’.
I kept things simple with the lips since the eyes were so colour heavy. I first lined my lips using Charlotte Tilbury’s Lip Cheat Pencil in ‘Pillow Talk.’ I then went over this with an Estee Lauder Lip Potion in ‘Not So Innocent.’
And that is the finished look. Hope you have a lovely, safe New Year’s Eve everyone, and I’ll see you in the new year.
Bye for now!
