It’s tutorial time again! I know I’ve been doing a lot of them, but it’s something that I’ve really enjoyed writing.
Today I’ve kept things quite simple using a lot of golds and browns in both the eyes and lips.
♣ Face ♣
I started by using the Nivea Sensitive Cooling Post Shaving Balm as a primer. Yes, this actually works, and I will review it soon. I then used The Body Shop’s Fresh Nude Foundation in the shade Bora Bora, layering to a medium coverage. I am loving this at the moment; it gives a very fresh faced, dewy finish to the skin.
I do have a touch of redness and under eye circles, so I dabbed a little Bare Minerals Bareskin Concealer under my eyes and on any blemishes, blending this in with a damp blending sponge.
I then applied my contour using Bare Minerals Warmth in a figure of three to add definition to my cheek bones and jawline. I did use highlight today using Bare Minerals Secret Radiance. I finally added my favourite blush, Bare Minerals Loose Blush in Swoon, which is quickly running out.
Finally, I set everything in place using Charlotte Tilbury’s Airbrush Flawless Finish Powder. This is a really great, finely milled powder that doesn’t show up on the skin.
♣ Eyes ♣
I have started thing off by filling in my brows with my usual Benefit Brow Zings kit, and priming my lids using the MAC Paintpot in Painterly.
I then used the Bare Minerals Loose Shadow in Java to define my crease. I then took the shade Bitter from Urban Decay’s Vice 4 palette, adding this to the outer corner.
As for the gold, I applied Chanel’s Illusion D’Ombre eyeshadow in the shade Mirage to the lid and my lower lash line. I built this up to a fuller pigment than normal. To smoke this out more, I tightlined my eyes using Urban Decay’s 24/7 Glide On Liner in Demolition, adding some to the lash line, and smoking it out using a smudger brush. On the lower lashes this darkened the gold to a more bronzy shade. I then took the shade Bone from the Vice 4 Palette and added this to my inner inner and brow bone.
As for lashes I applied lots of Charlotte Tilbury’s Full Fat Lashes, giving my lashes a very curled, fluttery look.
♣ Lips ♣
For the lips I kept things quite warm and neutral. I first lined my lips using Max Factor’s Colour Elixir Lip Liner in Mauve Moment. Over this I applied Nars’ Velvet Lip Liner in Dolce Vita, layering the matching lipgloss over this. This lipgloss isn’t very sticky, which is always great when you’re layering lip products this way. I also find that Nars Lipglosses last a long time throughout the day.
And that is my finished look. What sort of tutorials would you like to see next time?
Bye for now!
