As you know, I love my Body Shop skincare. The makeup, in my opinion is a bit hit and miss. Lately I have been trying out their newest foundation. This came out last Autumn and has had quite good reviews. This was one of the things that I bought during my January splurge and I have used it a fair bit since.
This is the Fresh Nude Foundation which retails at £15 and comes in sixteen shades. So there’s bound to be a shade that will match you. If not, Body Shop released their lightening and darkening drops to help customise your ideal shade. I haven’t tried these yet; I’m quite lucky in the fact that my skin tends to match ideally to foundations. In this, I wear the shade Bora Bora.
On the Body Shop’s website it states that this foundation will give:
- Up to 24H moisturisation
- Light to medium coverage
- Semi-matte, fresh-faced finish
- SPF 15
- Suitable for sensitive skin & dermatologically tested
On me, this feels a very dewy foundation and gives my skin a natural glow. Over time it does dry to a semi-matte finish. Being quite a light coverage (especially if you use the newly designed Face brush) this does leave your face looking very fresh and youthful. I do find that this layers brilliantly, so you can build it up to a medium coverage without compromising the finish.
I do have very sensitive skin so the aloe vera and rose water in this foundation really helps sooth my skin and reduces any redness.
I won’t comment on the SPF factor. I live in the North East of England. We don’t really get sun up here.
As a beauty blogger, I have noticed that this is my favourite foundation for photographs. I rarely got flashback on the photos so all of them were useable. Awesome!
I will say that it isn’t the longest lasting of foundation so wearing with a primer is a must if you want it to last longer on the skin. It is an amazing foundation though and one worth checking out ready for the dewier skin days of Spring/Summer.
What are your thoughts on this?
Bye for now!
