Soft Neutrals with a Rocksteady Lip

Hi guys!

I have been having loads of fun with the Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette and have come up with a few looks using it. I posted a dark burgundy eyeshadow look a few days ago. Today, I wanted to do something slightly softer but combine this with a gorgeous bold lip.

I have used some different products on the actual face too. I know, shock horror!

Here we go!

To start off, I primed my face using the Nivea Sensitive Cooling Post Shave Balm. This is actually a beauty hack that I can get behind. It works really well! I blended this in until it became tacky on the skin.

Over this, I applied my Bare Minerals Ready Foundation in a slight upward angle and buffed it into the skin using the matching Precision Face Brush (the flat one). Under my eyes I applied the Bare Minerals Bareskin Concealer.

To set everything in place I used the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish powder, concentrating over where the concealer was applied. I find that the Ready foundation doesn’t really need setting as much as the others.

For definition I applied an old favourite bronzer. If you remember my Weebly blog, I was once obsessed with this. It was in a limited edition Summer kit. It is the Bare Minerals The Beach is Waiting Bronzer. I applied this to my cheek bones, bringing any excess under my jawbone and over my temples. This is a really subtle glowy bronzer.

For blush, I applied my Urban Decay Afterglow Blush in Video, then applied Bare Minerals Secret Radiance over the cheek bone and down the bridge of my nose.

As for eyes, I filled in my brows using the Benefit Brow Zings palette. This gave a good shape for the eyeshadow.

On my eyelids, I first primed the lids using MAC’s Paintpot in Painterly. I then took the Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Palette and mixed the shades Skimp and Stark to mattify the lid.

In the crease of my eye, I applied the darker fawn shade Zone, blending this quite softly, but building up the colour. In the outer crease, and outer lid, I blended the shade Punk. I blended these two shades together using Anaheim since Punk is such a harsh brown.

On the actual lid, I applied Baby, blending the edge out into the crease.

On the lower lash line, I mixed Punk, Zone and Anaheim to create a soft smoked line along my lash line, then blended Baby in the inner park of the eye.

I then took Punk once again on a liner brush, and applied this to the top lash line.

To tightline my eyes, I used my Rimmel Scandal Eyes Liner in Nude on the lower lash line. I used Urban Decay’s 24/7 Glide on Liner in Demolition along the upper lash line.

For mascara, I used Clinique’s Chubby Lash in Two Ton Teal to add a subtle pop of colour to the eyelid.

I first lined my lids using a No7 Precision Lip Pencil in Soft Blush. I wish I had used a red liner in hindsight. The lipstick applied quite red to my lips rather than the darker shade that I expected. Oh well, I know for next time!

On a lip brush, I applied the Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Lipstick Rocksteady.

And this finished the look. What do you think? I have got a dark blue and gold eyeshadow look coming up which you may have seen on Instagram. But I’ll post that another day.

Bye for now!
