Bridal Look 1: Soft Neutrals

Hi guys!

One of the main areas of work for makeup artists is in bridal makeup. I will eventually be doing my sister’s makeup for her wedding, so I’m getting some early practices in. I would appreciate any feedback and what you think could improve on any of the looks. It’s my sister’s wedding so I want it to be perfect for her.

So this is the first of many (goodness knows when her wedding is) bridal tutorial looks. This one is a lot more subtle with a smokey brown eye and a nude glossy lip. Here’s how I achieved it.

For the foundation, I have buffed a generous amount of Charlotte Tilbury’s Magic Foundation into my face and down my neck. To brighten my under eye area, I blended Bare Minerals Bareskin Serum Foundation using a beauty blender. To set everything in place I lightly brushed some of Charlotte Tilbury’s Airbrush Flawless Finish Powder under my eyes and across my t-zone.

I am a bit pale at the moment so I added a lot of colour to my face. I first applied my Body Shop Honey Bronzing Powder in Light Matte to my cheek bones, jawline and temples for contouring. I then added a semi-circle of Lancome Belle de Teint Bronzer in Belle de Cannelle over my cheeks and temples. This is a really pretty bronzer that adds a subtle touch of glow to the face.

As for blush, I built up the colour slowly using Charlotte Tilbury’s Cheek to Chic Blush in Love is the Drug. I finished the face using a touch of highlight from Becca’s Shimmering Skin Perfector in Champagne Pop using a fan brush.

For the eyeshadow, I used the Charlotte Tilbury Luxury Palette in The Sophisticate. I applied the Smoke shade in the crease blending this until it was very light. On the lid, I used a fluffy brush to add the Enhance shade to the mix. In the inner corner, I placed a small amount of the Prime shade. Finally, on the inner corner I added a touch of Pop, then blended all four shades together. To finish off the lid, I patted a light amount of MAC’s Pigment in Copper Sparkle. I kept this quite light.

I then applied Smoke and Enhance to my lower lash line, buffing this out very lightly.

To tightline my lower lash line, I used Stila’s Kajal EyeLiner in Topaz, and I smudged a touch of Charlotte Tilbury’s Rock n’ Kohl Liner in Barbarella Brown along my upper lashes.

I finished my eyes off using a touch of MAC’s Charcoal Brown Eyeshadow in my brows to warm them up a touch, and I applied layers of Smashbox’s Photo Finish Lash Primer and X-Rated Mascaras to my lashes.

I wanted the lips to look quite juicy but still really natural. I first lined them using GOSH’s Velvet Touch Lip Liner in Antique Rose, overlining slightly. As for lipstick I applied my Tom Ford Lip Colour in Casablanca. This is a gorgeous dusty rose shade. For lip gloss, I applied a light layer of Tom Ford’s Ultra Shine Lip Gloss in Rose Crush. Together these looked amazing.

So this is the first bridal look on my blog. Please let me know what you think and give me any feedback including improvements. Or if you have any recommendations for bridal looks, let me know so I can try them.

Bye for now!
