A few weeks ago I posted this look to my Instagram and people seemed to like it, so I thought that I would post it as a tutorial. This is a very simple glamorous look for glasses wearers. For March of the lipsticks, I also mixed two deep red colours to create a more 90s lined lips effect.
I hope you like it.
I first primed my face using Benefit’s Porefessional Mattifying Primer. I’ve found that you only need a tiny amount of this otherwise you end up with weird flakes of product on the skin.
I then buffed a small amount of Urban Decay’s Naked Skin Foundation over my entire face, and blended down the neck slightly. Under my eyes, I then blended my Bare Minerals Bareskin Serum Concealer with a beauty blending sponge. I set everything in place with Charlotte Tilbury’s Airbrush Flawless Finish Powder.
To contour, I used L’Oreal’s Infallible Sculpt Contour Palette to draw in some cheek bones, blending out with a brush. I then bronzed up the upper half of my face with the Bare Minerals Bareskin Bronzer (I got a little sample of this a while ago). For blush, I applied Charlotte Tilbury’s Cheek to Chic Blush in Love is the Drug. I’d forgotten how pigmented this was, so a lot of blending happened!
To finish off the face, I applied Becca’s Shimmering Face Perfector in Champagne Pop with a fan brush on the tops of my cheek bones.
For a change, I kept the eyes pretty simple. I first filled in my brows using Benefit’s Brow Zings and L’Oreal’s Brow Plumping Mascara. I’ve been loving my eyebrows at the moment; I’ve finally got them to the thickness and shape that I want. It makes applying brow products so much easier.
On the lids, I filled in my lid area up to the crease with a Laura Mercier Caviar Stick in Sandstone. These blend out really easily and once they’re dry, they stay put and won’t crease on the lid. I blended out the edge with a fluffy blending brush. I then drew this colour along my lower lash line.
On the outer eye, I drew a small amount of the shade Jungle from the same range of Caviar Sticks and blended this into Sandstone with the same fluffy brush from before.
I then finished off the eyes with a bit of mascara from Smashbox. I primed them first with the Lash Primer Mascara, and topped this with the Indecent Exposure Mascara. Again, I am loving this mascara for my dramatic lashes. It’s awesome!
To prime the lips, I overlined slightly with Charlotte Tilbury’s Lip Cheat in Savage Rose. I then applied MAC’s Retro Matte Liquid Lipstick in Dance With Me.
. Over this, I then applied Bourjois’ Rouge Edition Velvet Lipstick in Hot Pepper. The effect was to give me a darker red outline with a brighter red in the centre. This was unintentional, but I loved the effect.
And to finish things off, I put on my glasses. I hope you liked this tutorial, and enjoy the rest of your day.
Bye for now!
