The Rebel is one of my favourite looks in the collection. I love green eyeshadow and really want to play with this palette. I showed my sister this look the other day, and I think she fancies a toned down version of this for either herself or us bridemaids, so I will have a play with it.
So the rebel look goes for dramatic eyes, bronzed skin and a nude glossy lip. Here we go! In recreating this I did try to make it more wearable for daytime.
I didn’t actually use the palette for this in the end. I was playing with some MAC shadows and got a similar look. But I’ll get to the eyes in a moment.
I decided to wear one of my more dewier foundations for this look, choosing the beautiful Urban Decay Naked Skin. I have this in a warmer shade, which looks amazing for this look. Under the eyes I applied my usual Bare Minerals Bareskin Concealer, blending with a beauty sponge.
On my cheek bones I applied L’Oreal’s Sculpt Contour Palette to chisel out some cheek bones, and applied Bare Minerals Warmth to warm up my face. On the cheeks I applied a sweeping of MAC’s Melba Blush. Although this isn’t a highlighted look, I applied a subtle hint of Nars The Multiple in Copacabana to make those cheekbones pop a bit more.
I set everything in place with MAC’s Mineralized Skin Finish. This is such a finely milled powder. I love it!
I do have the actual palette for the rebel’s look but I had a play around with a few palettes and got a similar look.
I first applied a neutral shade from Stila’s In the Garden Palette called Nectar to prime the lids.
In the crease I then slowly darkened the area using MAC’s Saddle, Charcoal Brown, Handwritten and Espresso in the order. I then darkened the crease further with the shade Sexy from The Balm’s Nude’tude Palette.
On the outer and inner corner I then took MAC’s Plummage, leaving the centre free of colour. Here, I patted Sage from In the Garden, blending it into the darker greens.
On the lower lash line I took Plummage again on the outer corner, joining it with a bit of sage in the inner corner. In the tearduct I applied a small amount of Sassy from Nude’tude.
In the waterline I applied a generous amount of Charlotte Tilbury’s Rock n’ Kohl Liner in Barbarella Brown, and I drew a very fine black line along my upper lash line with Maybelline’s Master Ink Liner.
To finish off the eyes I applied L’Oreal’s Sculpt Lash Mascara and MAC’s Extended Play Gigalash Mascara. To fill in my brows I used Bare Mineral’s Frame and Define brow pencil.
To finish off the look, I used an old favourite lipstick in the form of Smashbox’s Mauve Matte. To give it the glossy finish from the photo I topped this with Bare Mineral’s Marvelous Moxie Lipgloss in Cream Glaze. This was limited edition, but you can still get it on their website.
And that is my attempt at recreating Charlotte Tilbury’s The Rebel using other brand’s makeup. The others will follow but I intend to space them out a bit. Hope you’re enjoying this series.
Have a lovely day, and bye for now!
