Not everybody likes a dramatic makeup look, but sometimes it’s nice to add a touch of colour to your face in a subtle and classy way. This trend is really coming out ready for Spring and Summer. So many makeup brands are brings out more and more colourful products alongside their neutral stuff.
I love playing with colour, but I tend to keep everything else pretty natural so that one things stands out.
One way for colourful makeup virgins to dip their toe in the water is to add a coloured liner into their routine. Benefit created their They’re Real Push Up Liners in some lovely wearable colours, that can be smoked out for a really pretty daytime coloured lid. For more crisp line looks Clinique released their own eyeliners as part of their ever expanding Colour Pop range. All the shades are beautiful. For a more affordable liner, Max Factor also have some gorgeous coloured liners in their Excess Intensity range. I used to love these back when I first started my Weebly blog.
If you really want to experiment with a tiny pop of colour on the eyes, coloured mascaras made a come-back last year, and some were made part of the permanent collection. Again, Benefit’s They’re Real Mascaras come in a great array of colours that really make the eyes stand out.
For more daring pops of colour on the lids, a wash of a single coloured eyeshadow is a nice way of playing about with colour. MAC Pigment Colour Powders come in some beautiful shades that are very wearable. They’re also quite long-lasting on the lids. For a more long-lasting eyeshadow wash, cream eyeshadows are always stunning. I love the Maybelline Colour Tattoo or Chanel Illusion D’Ombre formulas for a very sheer wash of colour, or for something with a bit more oomph the Laura Mercier Caviar Sticks and Rosie for Autograph Eyeshadow Sticks are amazing. Both of these can be blended for a pretty smoky eye too.
A final way you could add colour to your face is with lipstick. If you are more of a neutral eye lover and don’t want to change that lipstick is such a fun way to play around with colour. It can easily be wiped away if you don’t like it. There are so many bright lipsticks out there to choose from, but my favourites would have to be Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in Bang. This is such an amazing colour for adding that instant pow to a pretty bland neutral look. I love it!

Have a lovely day. Bye for now!
PS- Of course if you prefer just wearing neutral shades on your face, an amazing pop of colour is with nail polish. Spring is the perfect time to embrace the bright nails again.
