I feel like blush is something that gets ignored or pushed aside a fair bit in my blog. I will admit though, that it used to be something that I was a little scared of. I always had a feeling that I looked like a clown. I only owned two or three blushers, and they were quite pastel, pale pink shades. Oo exciting!
However, since watching Wayne Goss’ video on blush placement my thoughts altered and blush became a plaything. I have a few different hues, textures and shades now, I can really play with that once ignored place on my face.
In my makeup bag I currently have five blushes. The majority are quite compact so they don’t take a lot of room in my makeup bag.
Today I wanted to share with you my thoughts and feelings on the above blushes in my makeup bag. If you would like to see a full blush collection, let me know. It’s not that big, honest.
I’ll start things off with the only cream blush in the bag. This is a really pretty coral orange blush that looks so flattering on the skin, especially with a tan. This is my Summer blush and gets so much use. I love the smell, which reminds me of pomegranates and oranges. It’s amazing! This blends out really easily, and being a cream to powder, it doesn’t sit awkwardly on the skin.
When the beauty therapist at Nars showed this to me my initial thoughts were “What the fuck?” This looks such a sickly grey-pink pastel shade in the pan. It doesn’t look that great. However, I did let her try it on me and it looks beautiful. It has a lovely rosy feel to the cheeks with a natural glow. It’s just so flattering and beautiful. If you have been put off by the colour of this in the pan, I really would recommend that you go and give this a swatch. You will not be sorry.
Chanel Joues Contraste Powder Blush in Orchid Rose
I love the packaging of this. It’s so chic, although quite chunky considering the size of the blush. A fair size of the packaging is taken up by the brush, which let’s be honest I’ll never use. The blush itself looks amazing all year round. It’s one of those shades that brings out a natural flushed glow to the cheeks. It’s so pretty.
Bare Minerals Ready Blush in The Indecent Proposal
I love darker grape shades on days where my eye makeup is quite light but I have a bold shade on the lips. This shade gives a lovely flush of colour. It blends out quite sheer, but could be worn deeper if you prefer. It’s gorgeous! Again though, I wish it didn’t have the daft little brush!
Nars Dual Intensity Blush in Panic
Here comes the neon pink blush. I needed one, and what better one to have than a Nars blush? This is gorgeous used both wet and dry. Yes, I have used it wet, and it blends out really well. You do have two shades in here which can be mixed or worn separate; the pans are large enough to not accidently swirl the brush in both. It’s just such an exciting product that I love using.
And those are all of my current blushes in my makeup bag. Which ones are you currently using?
Have a lovely day guys and I’ll see you next time.
