It’s the end of yet another month and I have a few makeup and skincare items to share with you, as well as a few random ones.
Nars Sheer Glow Foundation
It’s back. This was my go-to foundation last Summer, and it probably will be this Summer too. This gives great coverage with long-lasting results. It does give me a nice natural glow to the skin and doesn’t look too cakey. It’s still a firm favourite of mine, and I used this on my Mam for a night out (a devoted drugstore foundation user) and she loved it too.
St Tropez In Shower Tanning Moisturiser
I used my Boots points to purchase this and I haven’t regretted it. I got five uses out of this before the bottle ran out and my tan is still going strong a few weeks after buying this. It hasn’t gone patchy at all. It just looks like a natural tan. I’m thinking of buying the darker shade once July hits ready for the serious three days of sunshine we’ll probably get up here. This was an awesome product, and so easy to use.
Race for Life
I ran the race for Life this year with work. Ten of us went, and I was the only one who attempted to run. This race was for such a good cause, and I am really thinking about doing it next year too. The atmosphere was amazing and it was quite fun.
Nyx Customisable Eyeshadow Palettes
Nyx hit the Metro Centre Boots with a bang earlier in the month. People were obsessed with it. I did give it a few days for the hype to die down, but I was just as excited as other makeup addicts to see the size of the stall. It’s honestly huge! I did build up two 9-pan eyeshadow palettes. These do fit MAC eyeshadows in too so I currently have a mix of MAC and Nyx in the above palette. I am loving turquoise and blue hues at the moment, so this palette has a few in it. My other palette has more neutral everyday shades. I just find these are easier to fit in my makeup case than the giant 15 palette from MAC.
Bare Minerals Nudes Palette
This is such a beautiful palette for more natural makeup days. You have the odd bold shadow but the others are quite low-key. This has been my go to palette when I want a quick sweep of something over the lid, or a deeper brown smoky eye. It’s quite adaptable. I’ve actually used the matte shades as transition shades when I use the turquoise shadows. They give a lot more depth to the eye. The shades are so blendable and creamy; I love it!
YSL Vinyl Mascara Couture
This is quite a few product. I saw these in Debenhams and got intrigued. These are very bright if you wear them straight up on the lashes. I tend to layer these over my regular black or brown mascara to add a touch of extra dimension to my lashes. They are gorgeous. I have the blue and the gold.
I have admired this guy a while for his quite varied roles. He can play anything from a hero to a villain or even a bit part in the background. I am yet to see a crap performance from him. I kinda went on a Lee Ingleby splurge during the month and discovered a new favourite actor. He certainly deserves more roles; he’s awesome. And no, I’m not just saying this because I fancy him!
Nars Eyeshadow Duo in China Seas
This is such a beautiful duo. I love the turquoise shade especially. I tend to wear it all over the lid, and darken the crease with the purple. It’s so beautiful!
Clinique Chubby Stick Bronzer
The Chubby Collection is a bit of a hit and miss line for me. I loved the lipsticks and mascaras. I hated the eyeshadows. Now they have face products. Out of them all I prefer the bronzer. This blends so easily and makes contouring so easy.
Nars Blush in Impassioned
In the pan this looks a very sickly pale pink. Nothing special. But on the cheeks this looks stunning. It’s a more matte version of Chanel’s Orchid Rose. It’s absolutely beautiful for that light natural flush.
Bare Minerals Active Cell Renewal
As you know, I have had a lot of bother with my skin lately. I have used a lot of hydrocortisone which helped reduce the issue. However, what finally brought my skin to normal was an old favourite. I used to use this on sunburnt skin and it worked almost instantaneously. I noticed my dry patches had reduced and gone after three days. I wish I had reintroduced this into my routine back at the start. It may have caused less of a problem.
No7 Youthful Replenishing Face Oil
When your skin is severally dehydrated like mine was, it needs some serious drenching. I found oils a big help. One of my favourites was this one. It smells amazing and sinks straight into the skin without leaving a sticky residue. My skin felt amazing the next morning too.
Benefit Gimme Brow
An oldie, but a goodie. On some days, I have just combed this through my brows to make them look thicker but still natural. It’s a great product, which is an everyday staple for me.
Sky 1’s The Five
Coming back to Lee Ingleby, my Mam and Dad Began watching this last month. I waited until all of them were recorded so I didn’t have to wait a week for the next twist. The series is amazing and I won’t say too much in case you want to watch it. It’s about a group of friend and one of their brother’s goes missing. Twenty years later his DNA shows up at a murder scene and the hunt is on to find the missing boy again. It will keep you glued to your seat. Definitely go and watch it!
Body Shop Sweet Almond Oil Nail Polish Remover
I hate the smell of nail polish remover even though it’s a necessity. This one smells amazing and doesn’t dry out your hands like some nail polish removers.
Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream in Amsterdam
I have worn this shade a lot this month. It’s a pretty pop of pink when I wanted something with a touch of oomph but not too much. The colour is really long lasting too. I think this was the only thing left on my face after the rest has melted away during the Race for Life.
Nars Audacious Lipstick in Jane
This is a weird neutral shade. It’s a terracotta colour which normally I would be weary around, but I love this. It’s certainly something different.
Estee Lauder New Dimensions Eye Cream Duo
I have started using this during the day. It’s a lot lighter than my Charlotte Tilbury Eye Cream, which now gets used at night only. This is a lovely anti-aging eye cream that doesn’t interfere with makeup. My foundation glides over the top of this like a dream. The filler pot actually helps reduce the look of lines under my eyes. It’s a pretty amazing product.
Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Oil
I really didn’t know what to make of this when I first bought it. But on really dehydrated skin days, or if I’m wearing a more drying foundation such as the Estee Lauder Double Wear, this is a lifesaver. It keeps the skin dewy without looking clammy but still allows foundation to last a long time. It’s awesome stuff.
And those are all of my favourites this month. What were your favourites?
Bye for now!
