Should you take a woman swimming on a first date?….
Piss off loser!
Today I wanted to share a pretty personal experiment with you guys. It came about where someone had made a comment regarding how much makeup girls wear these days. That lovely, flattering phase that is going around social media lately that’s just so disrespectful really got me thinking about how people would react to me without makeup.
So many women are posting photos of themselves without makeup, and I am quite a coward in that respect. I will usually only post photos that please me. If I look too fat or if my makeup looks crap, I won’t post it. I get so anxious over what people may say about me without my battle armour on.
However, today I fought my demons and left the house with just a touch of eyeliner, mascara and lip balm. My face was bare for all to see.
My skin doesn’t look the greatest. I suffered really bad eczema as a teenager and it did ravage my face pretty bad. Since the whole makeup remover incident a few months ago my long-dormant eczema appears to have come back. I normally cover this with hydrating primers and foundation. Not today!
And I got quite a few different comments.
Oh my God! What’s wrong with your face?
It looks like you’ve got sunburn.
You look propa minging
You really need some foundation love.
You’re brave leaving the house like that.
You look gorgeous with or without makeup.
You’re still a stunner.
Have you been to the doctor? You need that seen to.
I won’t say anything regarding what these people said. But some of these opinions did shock me (they’re all people that I know well). It does kinda make me wonder why we are told two different opinions regarding makeup. If we wear it, we’re hiding something, if we don’t we look gross. Really, what the hell???
At the end of the day, I wear makeup for me. It makes me feel good, and if anyone doesn’t like it they can go and fuck themselves.
What are your thoughts on this? Why do you wear makeup? Would you post a bare faced photo of yourself on social media?
Have a lovely day guys.
