Onto the next group for my mid-yearly favourites! Eyes, as I have said before, is my favourite part of the face to play with. There are just so many different looks to do and so many products to create those looks with.
So without any more rambling, here are my favourite eye products for the first half of 2016.
I have a bit of a love-hate relationship with primers on my eyelids. Sometimes they do look cakey and it can be just an extra layer of product. However, I really enjoy using the Benefit Stay Don’t Stray eyelid primer. This is really light and does leave a fine tacky surface for eyeshadow to cling too as well as concealing any redness on the lid area. It’s pretty awesome stuff.
I love cream eyeshadows. They are so blendable and a quick way to add some colour to your eyes if you’re in a hurry. My favourite formula for these are the Laura Mercier Caviar sticks. These are so creamy and blendable. They make an amazing base for powder shadows and still look amazing on their own. I love the shade Peacock, which is a gorgeous turquoise shade. These are waterproof too, so great in the Summer. For a more matte eye, I love the Bare Minerals BB 5 in 1 Cream Eyeshadows. These are so so beautiful, but more neutral in the shades compared to the Caviar Sticks.
Will this come as any surprise? My favourite palette is the Urban Decay Vice 4. This is such a beautiful colourful palette; the looks are endless with it. I’ve hit pan on some of the shades already which is unheard of for me and a palette. These blend out so well and look amazing. I absolutely adore this and just keep going back to it.
I have so many eyeshadow quads! Picking one is so tricky, but I’m going to go for Charlotte Tilbury’s The Rock Chick. This is a sexy grey smoky eye palette that looks absolutely amazing on. I am due to do the Rock Chick look this month so I intend to do this palette justice. This palette is great for daytime use, but can be vamped up for nighttime. I love it!
Out of all my duos, my favourite formula is the Nars Duo Shadow Palettes. The colours are amazing in them. They are richly pigmented and so buttery. They blend like a dream. Out of all the palettes, my favourites are probably Isolde, China Seas and St Paul de Vence. Happy Poo also has a place in my heart too (Joli Poupee is it’s actual name. It’s an inside joke between me and my sister to call it happy poo).
Sorry to mention Nars again, but the Dual Intensity eyeshadows have dominated my makeup bag in the past three months. These are very pigmented and blend so easily. They look amazing dry or wet and layer beautifully on top of each other. I love all the shades and I can’t just pick one. They all look gorgeous.
My favourite liquid liner is the Chanel Stylo Liner. This gives the most perfect feline flick for my eyelids. It is a godsend. The formula is amazing and doesn’t crease on me either (unless I’ve been crying). My favourite pencil liners remain to be the Urban Decay Glide on Liners. These are great in the waterline or to smoke out the top lid. I love them, especially the shade Rail.
Again, I’ve been a mascara whore lately. I’m currently trying out a fair few, but the one that has impressed me the most is the Nars Audacious Mascara. This is amazing, although I know the wand will scare a few people off. I am the clumsiest person alive and I have yet to stab myself in the eye with this. It’s so easy to use and gives amazing lashes. It’s definitely one to try out.
Without a doubt, the queen of my brows is the Benefit Brow Zings. It’s an amazing powder palette that gives natural groomed and full looking brows. I’ve had this so long and it is beginning to hit pan. I will have to find something new soon, or buy the new one that’s coming out.
So those are my eye favourites. What are yours?
Hope you’re having a good day guys. Bye for now!
