Items I Use to Take Photos

Photography is a very personal thing. We all have our own blogs and our own ways to make our photos stand out.

I have really been loving my current set-up for photos lately and I wanted to share some of the items that I use to make them look as good as I think they do.

Scarves: I have quite a collection of scarves in my drawer. These are usually gifts for Christmas. I tend to use these as a background since my floor or mattress would look a bit dirty or boring. The scarf I use the most is the pretty floral one. I think this was a gift from a family friend in Kansas. She possibly bought it at a church craft sale.

Fancy Containers: I bought these from a shop called Pier. I’ve had these years and the shop has since closed down. They made a lot of middle-eastern style furniture and it all looked beautiful. These make really lovely stands for makeup to add more layers to the photo or to just have there are something visually appealing in the photo.

Crystals: Is it crystal? It’s a pretty coloured rock anyway. I bought this in a market in Lanzarote. I tend to turn this upside down and use it to prob up larger pieces of makeup. It often gets used for the main central piece for the photo. I love it. It’s just a lovely keepsake.

Jewellery: I don’t use this often, but I sometimes drape necklaces over items in my photo, just to make things look pretty. Although I do find that this can be a bit distracting, so it does get used less and less as of late.

Camera: I alternate between two cameras. I use my Nikon Coolpix L840 or my Samsung s7. Both of these are amazing cameras and give beautiful quality photographs.

And those are all of the things that I use in my photos. What do you use? Are there any tips that you can give me?

Have a lovely day guys!
