I was unsure whether to write this post this month, what with the mid-yearly favourites being posted too. However, I have so many favourites already this month, I thought that I’d best mention some now before I make the end of month list an essay!
So, as I wait for my nails to dry, here we go.
Me Before You by Jojo Moynes
I read the book after seeing the film trailer on Youtube. I love books like this. They’re such an easy read inbetween the heavier stuff I tend to read. Boy was I wrong on the heavy stuff. I don’t want to give too much away but this book has such a big message and such a heavy debate surrounding it. It’s worth reading just to hear all the different views of quite a difficult subject. This book did have me laughing, crying and full out bawling at times. It is such a good book and well worth the read.
PS- I’m seeing the film the day after I wrote this.
PPS- It’s awesome!
Urban Decay One & Done Foundation
This is sold as a tinted moisturiser. It’s not. It has such a medium to full coverage but does feel so hydrating and dewy on the skin. This felt so comfortable when my skin was at it’s worst and it looked amazing. I love the packaging of this too. Apparently the pump works like a vacuum to suck up any residue of foundation, so everything gets used. This is such a brilliant idea and I wish more high end companies had it.
Clinique Chubby Stick Sculpting Contour
This is such a brilliant product and so easy to use. I use this for both bronzing and contouring, depending on what I want for that day. I tend to just draw a line under my jawbone and buff this out with a dense fluffy brush. It looks really natural and very fresh.
YSL Vinyl Couture Mascaras
These are so cool. I really am getting into the coloured mascara hype. They have a way to brighten up a dull makeup look with just a quick swipe of colour. I love the blue one; it’s such a pigmented colour. I still want to get hold of the green one.
Nyx Vivid Bright Liquid Liners
Pretty much every other day I have worn at least one of these. If you are afraid of wearing too much colour on your eyes, these are such a subtle pop of bright colour. I love them. I do wish that there was a black in the formula ready for Winter but for Summer, these are amazing.
Dior Addict Lip Glow
This was such an unecessary and expensive purchase, but I love it. This gets used every morning prior to applying lipstick to plump up my lips and hydrate them. It’s basically a lip balm. It could be worn on it’s own, but I love this as a little touch of luxury to my skincare regime.
Nars Dual Intensity Eyeshadows
It’s so weird to think that I’ve had these for so long, yet they’re only now making it into a favourites post. These are such a gorgeous product for adding that instant wow-factor to your eyes. I love the colours and I love playing with them. The looks are endless. Yes, they’re pricey, but they’re worth it.
