I recently started watching Game of Thrones from the beginning again and I got inspired to create makeup looks based on some of the main Houses from the series. These are based on shades and symbols associated with those Houses rather than a specific character.
The first one is of course the Targaryen’s which I have attempted to base this around Danaery’s three dragons. So here we go!
For foundation I decided to give the new Bare Mineral’s Bare Pro Foundation a go. I’ll say this now, I don’t like it. It took ages to build up any coverage and felt quite patchy. Therefore I used a but-load of concealer to give my face the coverage that I wanted. The concealer that I used was the ever brilliant Bare Minerals Bareskin Concealer. To set it all in place I used my Dior Diorskin Forever and Ever Powder.
To contour I buffed a light amount of my Body Shop Honey Bronzer into my cheek bones. I then applied Nars’ Multiple Sticks in Copacabana as a base for highlight, blending downwards slightly with my finger.
As for blush, I mixed Urban Decay’s Afterhour Blush in Rapture with Nars’ Orgasm blush, blending into the apples of my cheeks and up towards my ear.
To finish off the face, I dusted a light layer of Becca’s Champagne Pop on top of my cheek bones.
I wanted my brows to be quite strong, so I first applied Benefit’s Precisely Brows Pencil to get the shape that I wanted then went over this with the Ka-Brow gel.
Onto eyelids; this is where I had the most fun! I don’t have a red eyeshadow so I used the next best thing; MAC’s Cranberry which looks almost red on my skin tone. I applied this using a damp brush, softening the edges around the crease.
On the lower lashline I mixed MAC’s Plumage with Nyx’s Enchanted to get a smoky green shade. I used a diffused pencil brush to apply this to the lower lashline.
To tightline I used my new Avon Glimmer Sticks in Black/Brown. I did apply a very thin line of black liquid liner along my top lashes just to make my lashes look a little thicker. To do this I used the Lancome Grandiose Liquid Liner. And to finally finish off my eyes, I applied a few generous layers of Urban Decay’s Perversion Mascara.
I don’t have a black lipstick, and I still wanted this to be a wearable look, so I applied MAC’s Ariana Grande lipstick. This looks almost black on me with just a hint of berry. I love it!
And that is my finished Targaryen tutorial. Tomorrow will be a look based on the Stark family. Which other Houses would you like to see recreated?
Have a nice day!
