My skin really is a nightmare all year round! If it doesn’t react badly to some skincare product, it’s dry. It’s a pain in the bum!
Therefore, I do tend to try and find relatively good, hydrating foundations and concealers to keep my skin looking as healthy as possible. And although my skin isn’t as bad as it used to be, it still gets quite dehydrated.
I hate the feel of my skin when it gets dry. It just feels so tight and sand-papery on really bad bads.
I do have my skincare regime sussed, and all my potions are doing a brilliant job, keeping the skin really plump and hydrated. However, the foundation also has to be quite hydrating, to keep things looking as good as possible.
At the moment I have put away my high coverage mattifying foundations; the one everybody else tend to reach for in winter; and I get my tinted moisturisers. Does anybody else do this in winter; go for something relatively light in coverage? My skin doesn’t really get red and angry in the winter, so this seems a more ideal time to reach for these products.
So at the moment I have been reaching for my well loved tube of Sheer Skin Tint by Liz Earle. This does have SPF 15 so it’s ideal for the Winter, when you may not realise how strong the sun’s rays actually are. As the shade is a tad bit too pale for me I do add two drops of The Body Shop’s Drops of Sun into the tint before buffing it into my skin. It just gives a lovely dewy glow to my skin. If I do need a bit extra coverage, I buff a light layer of Bare Minerals Original Foundation over the top instead of a setting powder.
For concealing any random blemishes I grab my two concealers from Chanel and bare Minerals. I have mentioned these two things that much, I’m sure I don’t need to mention them again!
Together these give me a lovely base that is surprisingly long-lasting, tending to last me the majority of the day.
I’ll soon be posting my birthday makeup. We’re celebrating a day early this year because Dad’s on night shift and I’m off for a spa day with Mam on my actual birthday. I can’t wait to celebrate my birthday this year!
Thanks for reading, and I’ll see you tomorrow!
