I have a reputation of being the selfie queen of the family. If you’ve ever seen my Instagram feed, you’ll know how true that statement is!
However even though I take a lot of selfies using my phone, it does bug me that you get a lot of shadows or the makeup just doesn’t look true to life.
I had heard of the selfie light from a few bloggers and the Kardashian clan so I have been on the lookout. Anything for a fab selfie, right?
I was reluctant to pay too much so when I saw this one for £15 in Tescos I thought, “Hey! Why not?”
First of all, this thing is not a fashion statement. it’s bulky and heavy and quite awkward to hold. If you did want this as your sole phone case, you’d better have wide hands!
The light itself does have four settings: a ‘soft’ light, a bright light and two flashing ones.
The soft light is the one that I use the most but honestly, it isn’t the greatest. You do get a lot of glare from your foundation and it does look like you have two stripes of light going down your face.
The other settings blind you. The bright light is awful and the flashing ones are just as bad.
This is a pretty shitty product. I will keep playing with it and seeing if I can make it work for me but this was just such an epic fail. It’s only saving grace is the fact that the settings are easily switched over and the instructions tons are easy to follow.
Are all selfie lights this rubbish? What have been your experiences with them?
