I ♥ Makeup: Golden Bar

I’m like a magpie when it comes to anything sparkly with makeup. I love a pretty palette. And one that looks like a melted chocolate bar, I’m all in!

Some of you may remember that I had a brief fling with the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette. It didn’t last. I don’t know what it was about it, but I just found it to not work very well with me. This palette is not a dupe for the Chocolate Bar, but this brand does have a very cheeky dupe for it.

This is the Golden Bar by I ♥ Makeup, which is a sister brand to Makeup Revolution, which most of you probably know specialises in dupe products of higher end brands, but at a fraction of those prices. These palettes range from £6 to £8, which is quite a saving compared to Too Faced.

I absolutely adore the packaging of this palette. It’s so pretty although does feel like one drop would shatter it. It definitely feels cheap on the outside. But it’s still pretty, and I love it.

The eyeshadows look amazing in the pan. They’re all gorgeous neutral shades. The information on the palette states that this is a mix on mattes and shimmer. Honestly, there is not one matte shade in this palette. Everything has a satin to shimmery finish, which I love. All the shades look amazing.

There is not one bad shadow in the bunch, which I find amazing for the price. There’s usually always a crap shadow hidden among the pretty things. However every shade is intensely pigmented and so rich and buttery. They blend on the eyelids like a dream and have quite a pretty wet look on the lids, especially the shade Gold. This one is a thing of beauty! For drugstore eyeshadows, these have very little fallout, which is amazing.

I love how two of the shades are a lot longer than the rest. These two are ideal face highlighters. I used the shade Chocolatier today, and it looked beautiful on top of my cheekbones. It’s such a pretty champagne shade.

Left to right: Collection, Ribbon, Edible, Tablet, Wrapped
Wrapper, Foil, Golden, Bar, Box, Block
Gift, Limited, Cocoa, Beans, Chocolatier

Overall, this is a stunning palette. I have used it in one tutorial already, but if you would like to see more looks using this, let me know.

I hope that you all have a lovely day and I’ll see you tomorrow.

Bye for now!
