YouTube Made Me Buy It

We’ve all been there and bought something that we were talked into buying. Beauty gurus and bloggers more than most. It’s the joys of the job!

The majority of the bad products have moved onto to other places but I’ve kept ahold of some of my really hyped up products; some I like, and some were a huge disappointment.

Urban Decay Naked Palette

I think this has been mentioned on every YMMBI post that I’ve watched. A few years ago this was really hyped up and loved by a lot of people. At one point I actually remember it being out of stock everywhere. I didn’t buy this one first though; I actually had the Naked 2 for a few years before giving into the hype. And honestly, I prefer the Naked 2. The original is beautiful and lives up to the hype, but I just prefer the colours in the Naked 2 and 3. I may actually give this away on Deepop if anyone is interested.

Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencils

I purchased quite a few of these after watching The Anna Edit’s videos. I do love these, but I wish that they were retractable rather than needing a pencil sharpener when they get blunt. The only shade that I actually have now is Dolce Vita, which I love. These are really creamy and are a beautiful matte lip product.

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Champagne Pop

Who hasn’t bought Champagne Pop? This was raved about so much at one time… in fact did the hype ever die down. I love using this for eyeshadow and to highlight my cheek bones. Yes, it is insanely pigmented but it can be worn quite lightly. It’s such a beautiful highlighter. I actually have three of them (although in my defence two are split panned with blushers).

Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheats

Can anyone remember my Charlotte Tilbury obsession. At one point I think I was visiting this store every month. What started it was the hunt for ‘Pillow Talk’ lip pencil, which was really hyped up on YouTube for a while.    I did eventually buy it and used it. I do like these, but I do prefer other lip pencils in my collection. There are some amazing shades in the range however they do dry me out a little. I do love the Charlotte Tilbury Lipsticks though!

Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipsticks

This list pretty much could be called the Anna made me buy it list. I think theres about four items on here that I bought on her recommendation!

These are one of the few drugstore lip products that I enjoy using. These last a really long time on my lips without drying them out and I love the colour selection. The French really know how to formulate a pretty red lipstick! The other shades are also gorgeous, but I love all the red shades. I have four.

Too Faced Shadow Assurance

I’m sorry but I hate this. I don’t know if I have a bad one but mine is really watery and doesn’t help the longevity of my eyeshadow at all. It’s bloody awful! However, it’s used by every Youtuber that I watch. They love it. Maybe I do have a bad one, but I just really don’t like it.

Clinique Chubby Lash Mascara

This is a lovely mascara for very natural lashes. This wasn’t really hyped up on Youtube but it was mentioned a lot on Lily Pebbles channel. I love this on days where I want a very natural makeup look with a pop of colour. It is worth the hype.

Chanel Illusion d’Ombre in Mirage

Another Anna Edit hype! This is another one that I really love, and do have other eyeshadows from the collection. This colour is stunning though for that quick wash of colour on the lids. This really was worth all the hype.

Nars Lip Gloss

These were hyped up on quite a few British Youtubers’ channels. And they’re really worth it. The colour payoff is stunning and they are not a sticky formula either. I love them a lot.

What has Youtube convinced you guys to buy?

Have a lovely day guys!
