Soft Valentines Day Makeup

It’s not long until Valentine’s Day, and whether you do have plans or just having a day to yourself, it’s still a really nice day.

Today I have been playing around with my makeup and came up with a very soft lilac makeup look ideal for Valentine’s Day.

For the face I applied a light layer of the Dior Diorskin Forever Cushion Foundation, which gives a really nice matte finish to the skin. I applied this with the sponge applicator, which worked really well, but I do prefer using a brush. Under my eyes I applied my Bare Minerals Stroke of Light Concealer. This is really light on the skin but adds a lot of luminosity to the undereye area. To set both the foundation and concealer I mixed my Bare Minerals Original Concealer and Mineral Veil, applying with a fluffy brush to my eyes and t-zone.

To bronze up my face I took my Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow and applied a light dusting of the bronze shade to my cheek bones. I didn’t want anything too harsh for this look. I also applied the highlighter to my entire cheek area, concentrating on my cheek bones.

For blush, I applied the Nars Dolce Vita Blush to the apples of my cheeks, then swept any excess upwards. I really love this colour for a natural flush. It looks really flattering.

To highlight further, I applied the Urban Decay After Hour Highlighter in Firebird to my cheekbones.

I kept things really simple with my eyes, taking the I ♥ Makeup Golden Bar Palette and dusting the shade Chocolatier to my entire eye area. I then took the shade Gift and applied this to my crease, concentrating on the outer corner. I also took this shade along my lower lash line to smoke this out slightly. On the lid area, I patted the shade Limited, blending out the edges to keep them soft. In the tear duct, I added a small amount of the shade Collection to highlight that area slightly.

To outline my waterline a little, I took the shade Always Charcoal in the Bare Minerals Lasting Liner and ran this along my lower lashline and along my upper lashline.

For my brows I set them using the Benefit 3D Brow Tones, and added the shade Collection to highlight it a touch.

Finally, to finish off the eyes, I used the Models Own Magic Mascara.

To finish off the look, I wanted a lovely lip colour that was quite bright.

I firstly lined my lips using the Makeup Revolution Retro Luxe Lip Liner in Grandee, then applied Bare Minerals Gen Nude Lipstick in Love over the top for a glossier look.

Together, I thought that these were a really nice combination.

And that is my first Valentine’s Day tutorial? Tomorrow’s will be a more smokier and sultry look ideal for an evening meal. I can’t wait for you to see that one.

Have a lovely day guys, and let me know your Valentine’s Day plans.

Bye for now!
