Dying my Hair

Hi everyone, how are you all today?

As part of drugstore week, I wanted to share a hair thing.

I do dye my hair quite regularly, and did recently go from blonde to copper, which I loved. I was finding the deeper reds quite tricky to keep looking fresh though, so I did decide to try and make it more of a monotone red shade with a brown undertone.

I originally used a Clairol dye, which lasted about a day. So I went for an old favourite in the L’Oreal Excellence Creme, and bought the shade Natural Hazlenut for £5 at Sainsburys. In the past these have lasted a really long time and tend to not dry out my hair as much as other drugstore dyes. The shade has definitely gone darker, and the red certainly shines through in a really subtle way when the light hits it. I actually love it.

To keep my colour lasting as long as possible, I do use drugstore shampoos but always the ones with colour protection properties. They haven’t let me down yet! At the moment I am using L’Oreal Elvive Colour Protection, which is a really good shampoo for dyed hair. But if you can recommend any other colour protection shampoos, do let me know.

Hope you all have a lovely day, and I’ll see you tomorrow for a tutorial… sort of!

Bye for now!
