Hi everyone! How are you all today? I wanted to continue my A Court of Thorns and Roses series with another one of the Courts. Like the Night Court, the Spring Court is another that we spend a lot of time in, especially in the first novel. This is where Feyre is brought first when she commits her ‘crime’ in the human world. It’s always described as a very beautiful place with a lot of colour. I wanted to attempt to bring these across in this tutorial.
I hope that you enjoy this one; it’s a bit different to my norm!
For foundation, I wanted to keep this quite clean and natural, so I used my Nars Sheer Glow Foundation as a base, and concealed any discolouration with the Superdrug BB Eye Cream. I set everything into place using the Makeup Revolution Luxury Banana Powder, which gave quite a lovely matte but glowy finish.
I didn’t want any heavy contouring with this look, but I did want to bronze up the skin slightly. To do this I buffed a light layer of Urban Decay’s Sunkissed Bronzer in a figure of 3 on both sides of my face. For blush, I used the Urban Decay After Hour blush in Fetish, which is a really pretty mauve pink shade. Since the main focus is the eyes, I used a very light highlighter to add a subtle glow to my cheek bones. For the highlight, I used Laura Mercier’s Highlighter in Indiscretion.
For the eyebrows, I kept things very natural, brushing through them a few times with the Benefit Gimme Brow.
On my lid, I took the Bare Minerals 5 in 1 Cream Eyeshadow in Delicate Moss across the lid, blending it out with my fingers.
There is a big thing with masks in the Spring Court, and since I sister has thrown out that blue mask she had, I had to improvise with a lot of eyeliners!
For the eyeliners, I used the Model’s own i-definer Pencils in various colours. I first took the brown to tightline and buff out the top lash line slightly, buffing it out with a smudger brush. I then used the different colours to draw a floral mask design around my eyes and cheeks. This was so hard and quite time consuming, so take your time if you do try to do this for any fancy dress parties. And I would suggest using softer eyeliners;these were quite tough and kept breaking on me.
For mascara, I used the green YSL Vinyl Mascara to give a more natural lash look.
Keeping the full focus on that pattern around my eyes, I used a natural pink shade lipstick for this look. I swiped a very light layer of Bobbi Brown’s Lip Colour in Tulle on my upper and lower lip.
And that is the finished look. What are your thoughts on this look? Have you read the books yet?
Have a lovely day guys!
