I’m contuining the A Court of Thorns and Roses series with another Court inspired tutorial. The Summer Court is another one that crops up in the second book with it’s own interesting set of characters.
I do imagine this court to pretty much be a tropical paradise, therefore I have kept this look very bronzed and glowy.
To keep this quite dewy I used the Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation, and used the Superdrug BB Eye Cream under my eyes. Before setting my foundation I patted some of the Smashbox Halo Pen Highlighter on top of my cheek bones. I set everything using the Makeup Revolution Banana Powder.
I bronzed up my skin by using the Chanel Soleil de Tan as a base, then my favourite Liz Earle Radiant Glow Bronzer over the top on my cheeks and around my forehead.
For blush, I took the Bare Minerals Vintage Peach Blush. And to finish off the cheeks, I took the Becca Shimmering Face Perfector in Champagne Pop.
I filled in my eyebrows using the Benefit Ka-Brow brow pomade and set then with the Fleur de Force Brow Tamer.
On my lids, I first took the Body Shop Down to Earth Palette, and used the matte bone shade to set my eyelids. In my crease, I used a pale fawn brown as a transition shade since the shimmery shadows would be quite intense. I did try the gold shade from the palette first, but it wasn’t shimmery enough, therefore I took MAC’s Amber Lights on a damp eyeshadow brush and packed it onto the lids. I blended out the edges as much as I could without removing any of the shimmer.
On my lower lash line, I took a matte brown and the gold from the Down to Earth palette, and blended them out with my finger. I then used the matte black on a flat eyeliner brush and ran this softly along the lower lash line, close to the waterline, and then along my top lashes. I then used a shimmery white shade from this collection in my inner corner. It’s in one of the quads.
For mascara I used the L’Oreal False Lash X Fibre Mascara to make my lashes look longer, but also quite natural.
For lipstick, I always wear bright colours in the Summer, and the Summer Court is described as very bright and beautiful, therefore I picked a gorgeous orange lipstick to compliment this makeup look. I used Charlotte Tilbury’s Matte Revolution Lipstick in Tell Laura. And since I didn’t want this to be a matte lip, I used a light coat of Blistex Lip Balm over the top to give it a glossy top coat.
And that is the finished look. What would you like to see next; another court or a character? Please let me know. I’m really enjoying this series!
Bye for now!
PS- I’m not going anywhere. Turns out my pay was better than I thought, and with this being no spend April, I had the spare cash to pay the annual fee. Phew!
