Another month has been and gone, and I have quite a few favourites this month both in beauty and other parts of my life. As always I will try and keep things brief, but you guys know how much I like to waffle on!
Freedom Brush Bath
I mentioned this in my brush cleaning post a few weeks ago and it is fantastic. It enables you to get enough product to wash the brush without cogging the bristles with unnecessary product. This allowed the brushes to clean quicker, and with less water (since I wasn’t spending ages washing the shampoo out) which actually made my brushes dry quicker. This was such an amazing product. I’ll definitely be repurchasing this once my current one runs out.
Makeup Revolution Luxury Banana Powder
I have been using this pretty much every day since buying it last month. This is a great setting powder, which I have used to bake once or twice. Although baking isn’t the best on my dry skin, I do find that this works just as well to set foundation and concealer the old fashioned way, which I actually prefer. This powder doesn’t sit on dry patches and hasn’t irritated my skin. It’s been brilliant. You do actually get quite a decent amount of product for your money too, so this will probably last me a long time.
Netflix: 13 Reasons Why
I did a full post on my reasons for loving this series so I won’t go into depth about it. This show tackled some really difficult issues in a very respectable way and it’s definitely something that everyone should watch. It had me laughing at times and it had me sobbing at others.
Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear
This is the foundation that I’ve been reaching for on oilier days. It gives such a beautiful flawless matte coverage that is really long-wearing. I have really enjoyed reaching for this. It just looks amazing!
Jeffree Star Androgyne Palette
This palette is beautiful. It is certainly one of the most pigmented products that I have ever used and it’s extremely wearable considering who created it. I have really embraced a coppery eye this month and it’s all been because of this. I has loved my makeup on everyday this I used this on my eyes; I just found it such a flattering palette.
Eco Tools Highlighting Brush
I bought the anniversary set from Eco Tools at the end of last month and fell in love with the highlighting brush. It’s so soft and really easy to go natural or build up to a Jaclyn Hill style pop of light. It’s just a brilliant brush, and relatively cheap.
No7 Lift and Luminate Foundation
It’s safe to say that I’ve fallen in love with this foundation. Yes I don’t really have any wrinkles yet however it’s a gorgeous formula for dry skin. It’s not to cakey, and quite light on the skin for a medium coverage product. My skin really has improved a lot since using it and it’s definitely going to be one of my staples in the Summer.
Home Inspiration Sweet and Salty Caramel Candle
You all know how much that I love my candles. I came across this one in Sainsburys and thought that it smelled divine. It actually reminds me of Starbucks Muffins and makes my room smell amazing.
Smashbox Always On Liquid Lipstick in Big Spender
This is such a beautiful colour and lasts a really long time. It can feel a bit drying if you apply a second coat after a few hours, but if I apply a balm before hand, I’ve never found any problems. I just fell in love with the colour in the store, and haven’t got sick of it yet.
The Hospital by Barbara O’Hara
Considering the subject matter of this book, it feels weird putting it as a favourite, but it was something that really made me think and realise how far Mental Health services have come over the years. This is a true story about a young girl who is taken into a children’s mental health ward. She describes in a lot of detail the abuse that she suffered prior to hospital and what happened whilst she was there. It makes a very uncomfortable read but one that has made me think.
Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream in Prague
Since dying my hair a darker colour, I’ve really embraced deep mauve shades. This is a slightly pinker shade than the Smashbox one, but I’ve still worn it a fair bit this month. The formula is so comfortable to wear and the colour is amazing; it’s so pigmented and opaque. I absolutely love it!
Smashbox Primer Water
I bought this under a recommendation from a few different Youtubers. I don’t use this as a primer but I use this to set my makeup and dampen my brush for shimmery eyeshadows. It works really well for both of these things, and you don’t feel like you’re saturating your brush or face; the pump distributes the ideal amount of product.
Barry M Sunset Gel in The Way You Make Me Teal
I love bright green shades and this is such a beautiful colour nail polish. I’m pretty sure that there was a charity event regarding this shade last month, but I can’t find any details about it now. All the same, this shade continues my love of Barry M nail polish; it’s very long-lasting and looks beautiful.
Natural Collection SunTint Bronzing Powder
Out of everything that I tried in my Natural Collection post, this wasmy favourite. It’s such a natural, beautiful looking bronzer and it blends out really well. For the really low price, this was such a hidden gem, which I’ll be using quite a bit in the warm weather,
Body Shop Drops of Youth Eye Cream
If you’re in your late twenties and have started to notice fine lines around your eyes, buy this product! It is a magical product that eliminated fine lines really easily. Since using this, my concealers are applying easier and I haven’t noticed as much creasing of product around my eyes. This has been such an amazing find over the past few months. I’d highly recommend getting it.
So those are all of my monthly favourites. I can’t wait to read all of your posts too over the upcoming days.
Take care guys!
