I am the Morrigan. You know me. What I am.
Morrigan, or Mor is another character that I love in the books. She’s had a hard life but has come back swinging by this point in the books. She’s a very strong female character.
This would have been an ideal one to do when my hair was still blonde, so once again, my red hair will have to suffice.
Mor is a very beautiful High Fae in the books, so I tried to keep this makeup look quite natural.
For foundation, I used the Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Foundation, for a medium coverage. Under my eyes I used a small amount of the Superdrug BB Eye Cream. I’m really sorry if I’m using this a bit too much; I just really like it. I set everything using the Bare Minerals Invisible Light Translucent Powder Duo.
For bronzer, I used a very light layer of my well-loved Liz Earle Radiant Glow Bronzer. For blush, I used a small amount of Urban Decay’s Afterhour Blush in Fetish to give a natural flush impression. For highlight, I used Urban Decay’s Afterhour Highlighter in Firebird.
I filled my eyebrows in slightly using the Benefit Goof Proof Pencil, keeping things slightly untamed.
On my eyelids I used a very battered and well-loved old favourite; Smashbox’s Double Exposure Palette. I first took the shades Fig and Espresso and ran them gently through the crease. On a damp eyeshadow brush, I took the shade Quartz and packed that onto my lid, then darkened the outer edge with a touch more of Espresso, running the excess from my brush along the lower lash line.
I then took the shade Noir on a liner brush and smudged this along my lash lines to darken things up slightly.
And to finish the eyes I used a light layer of the Bare Minerals Lash Domination Petite Volumising Mascara.
Since Mor was originally a member of the Court of Nightmares, I wanted to use a darker plum lipstick. I used a very battered Live Large from the Bare Minerals Marvelous Moxie Collection. This was still moderately natural for Mor but also gave a slightly gothic feel.
And that is my Mor inspired makeup tutorial. I just have three more to go: Nesta, Day Court and the Court of Dreams. I’m actually looking forward to the latter most of all!
Have a lovely day guys!
