The end is in sight! There are just two more tutorials to go after this one. As much as I have enjoyed writing up these tutorials, I didn’t realise how many there would be to fit in a full month!
But thanks for sticking with them; I hope that you’ve enjoyed this series even if you haven’t read the books.
So the Day Court is another that really hasn’t been explored much apart from one of Feyre’s powers that makes her ‘glow with happiness,’ (also known as chapter 55). But that’s all that I will say on that matter.
I do imagine the Day Court being quite Summery in nature, but not as much as the Summer Court therefore I wanted quite dewy skin with a medium coverage. Therefore I mixed the Liz Earle Skin Tint with the Natural Collection Colour Foundation. This combo kept my skin quite dewy and removed the issue of dryness from the Natural Collection Foundation being used on it’s own. It felt a lot more comfortable.
Under my eyes I used my old faithful Superdrug BB Eye Cream. Everything was set using the Bare Minerals Hydrating Mineral Veil.
For bronzer I used the Natural Collection Suntint Bronzing Powder, buffing this into the areas that would naturally tan in the sunshine. For highlighter I used the coral Natural Collection Cream Highlighter. When buffed out, this looks beautiful as a highlighter. And finally for blush, I used the Nars Dual Intensity Blush in Panic to add a pop of warm pink.
I wanted the eyes to be gold, but not as intense as the Dawn and Summer Courts. I did fill in my brows with the Benefit Precisely Brows Pencil, and then untamed them using the Natural Collection Brow Gel.
For eyeshadow I used the Chanel Empreinte de Desert Eyeshadow Quad. It’s a really pretty golden eyeshadow palette with a pop of green. In the crease, I buffed out the darkest brown shade in my crease and the outer corner. I did keep this very soft for a soft smoky eye. On the actual lid I mixed the two golden shades and packed them onto the lid, buffing the edges into the brown crease shade. Then on my lower lash line, I dusted that green shade for a small pop of colour.
For liner, I used the No7 Stay Perfect Gel Liner along my upper lash line, keeping it very neat. Then in my waterline, I used the Rodial Eyeliner in Brown. I didn’t want this to be a harsh look, so I thought brown would look a bit softer.
For mascara I kept the softness by using a brown mascara; Natural Collections Lash Length Mascara.
For lipstick, I kept things very natural and applied a light coat of the Collection Velvet Kisses Lip Cream in Caramel 2. For a matte liquid lipstick these are actually really comfortable to wear.
So that is my tutorial based on the Day Court. I really am looking forward to reading A Court of Wings and Ruin now. Apparently the book has been shipped today and should reach me on launch day. Yey!
I may be MIA for the day it takes me to read the book!
Bye for now guys.
