Naturalistic Makeup Tutorial

On some days you don’t really feel like experimenting with new techniques or messing around with colour. All you want to do is something that feels comfortable and looks natural.

So today I felt like sharing an almost no makeup makeup look.

This was straight after a nightshift, so my skin looked a tad but dull and lifeless. So after prepping my skin with a ton of moisturiser and eye cream I slapped on some of Laura Mercier’s Radiance Primer, which adds a not so very subtle glow.

To keep things glowing I applied my Body Shop Fresh Nude Foundation with a buffing brush, and removed any streaks with a damp sponge. On my eye-bags I packed on some of the Superdrug BB Eye Cream mixed with the Bare Minerals Stroke of Light Concealer. Everything was set into place with the Bare Minerals Hydrating Mineral Veil.

Before setting the face, I did apply a cream highlighter; Clinique’s Chubby Stick Highlighter which looks so beautiful on fair skin tones.

After setting the cream and liquid products, I buffed a light layer on my Liz Earle Radiant Glow Bronzer to my cheek bones and temples in a c-shape. For blush I used the well-loved Urban Decay After Hour Blush in Video.

For my eyes I actually filled in my eyebrows using the Maybelline Brow Satin, and set them in place using the Benefit 3D Brow Tones Mascara.

I kept the eyeshadow very minimalist, running Nars Dual Intensity Eyeshadow in Kari on the lid and Tan Lines in the crease and lower lashline.

For liner, I smudged a very light layer of Rodial’s Brown Eyeliner Pencil. I then finished off the eyes with a few coats of the Chanel Dimensions Mascara in Brun. For minimalist looks, go for a fairer shade if you have a lighter hair colour; it looks more natural.

For the lips, I first lined my lips using the Bare Minerals Under Over Lip Liner in Attitude. Directly over the top, I applied a light coat of the Nars Lip Laquer in Over Rated. This was one of the Summer Limited Edition lip shades from last year. I’m not sure whether it’s still available. But it’s a gorgeous beige shade with a hint of pink.

What products do you use for a no makeup, makeup look?

Have a lovely day guys! And take care!
