Makeup of the day

Forbidden Audition

Sometimes, among all the crazy colourful looks of the Spring and Summer, you really fancy a neutral makeup look. From my research into the trends, some fashion designers were choosing the less is more looks on their models too. They actually stood out really well among the brightness.

Today, I channelled my natural girl and went all-out neutrals. For the lipstick I actually used the Smashbox Be Legendary Lipstick in Audition as a base before sweeping a light layer of the Bare Minerals Buttercream Lipgloss in Forbidden over the top. Together, these shades complimented each other really well.

On the eyes, I teamed up the pretty neutral lip shades with an old favourite; Charlotte Tilbury’s Vintage Vamp eyeshadow quad. I used all the matte tones as a base before popping a small amount of the shimmery pearl shade in the centre of my lid.

I’ve actually decided to embrace quite a messy brow look lately. I am wanting my eyebrows to grow a bit thicker, and it means that I can’t get my usual arch as easily. So I am sweeping light strokes of the Benefit Precisely Brow Pencil through the thicker hairs before setting them with the Natural Collection Brow Mascara.

As for the base, I am loving the Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Foundation. It gives such a beautiful satin, medium coverage. I have been loving it at the moment. It actually teamed up well with the Chanel Soleil de Tan and Becca’s Prosecco Pop Highlighter. They gave a lovely inner glow look. For blush, I finished everything off using Bare Minerals Ready Blush in The Indecent Proposal. This is such a stunning shade, and blends out beautifully.

Which do you prefer; brights or neutrals?

I hope that you’re all having a lovely day, and take care.
