Prom Tutorial #3: Affordable Dusty Lilac Look

Hi guys!

I’m back with another prom inspired makeup tutorial. Since proms are mainly for people in school who may not be able to afford the likes of MAC and Dior, I wanted to create one using only drugstore or affordable makeup lines.

This look has been kept very simple; a lilac mono-tone eye and soft pink lips.

Since this makeup is menat to last all night, I first applied a primer. I blended in the Collection Primed and Ready Mattifying Pore Minimiser with my fingers. Over the top, I blended out some of the New Look No Shine Foundation using a blending sponge.

For concealer I took the Superdrug BB Eye Cream and blended this out under my eyes, setting everything with the New Look HD Powder.

To add some life back to my face, I did a slight bit of contouring with the Models Own Sculpt and Glow Matte Bronzer, buffing out under my cheek bones and down my neck. For blush I used the shade All I Think About is You from Makeup Revolution’s Baked Blush Collection. This does add a subtle highlight too, but I did want a bit more, so I dusted some of the Golden Sand Models Own Sculpt and Glow Highlighter over the top.

For the eyes, I kept things really simple. I first filled my brows in slightly with the Freedom London Brow Pommade in Chocolate, and set them using the Fleur de Force Brow Tamer.

On the lids I took the Revlon Colourstay Cream Eyeshadow in 730 (sparkly fleshy pink shade) across the entire lid and up to my brow bone. On my lids I then used the shade 740 (lilac) and buffed the edges out with my fingers. I also took this shade along my lower lash line too. Then in the inner corner and brow bone, I highlighted using the shade 705 (pearl).

I created quite a dramatic feline flick using the Bourjois Feline Liner, which is one of the easiest felt tip liners to use in my opinion. It’s brilliant and really precise.

To finish off the eyes I used a few coats of the Rimmel Volume Shaker Mascara to add a lot of volume.

On the lips I used the Models Own Luxe Matte Lipstick in Honey Love. I thought that this colour went really well with the simple eyeshadow look.

What do you think of this look? I hope that you’re all having a really lovely day guys.

Take care!
