Summer Holiday Makeup

Hi guys!

Who is off on holiday soon? If you are, I hope you’re going somewhere nice. My next holiday is in November, where I will be spending my birthday in Cyprus. However, I still wanted to post this to give ideas to anyone who may be off on a nice sunny holiday.

I try not to pack too much in my makeup bag, so here are the things that I would pack.

I often find that if I wear foundations with SPF in them I burn more easily. Therefore I take foundations with low SPF. On the past few holidays I have taken something with a light to medium coverage such as the Bare Minerals Original Foundation or No7 Lift and Luminate Foundation. I can trust these ones to withstand the high temperatures, and to prevent my skin from burning.

As for concealer, I tend to not need as much. The sunshine actually helps my skin heal and become less blemished, and have less dark undereye circles. I would take a concealer with a light coverage for under my eyes only. And my concealer of choice would be Superdrug’s BB Eye Cream.

Setting foundation is a must abroad to help it last in the heat. My setting powder would be the Bare Minerals Bareskin Powder. This adds a slight bit of colour but helps skin look flawless and glowy. I have honestly gone through so many compacts of this setting powder. It’s beautiful!

To add some colour to my skin, I do bring bronzer, blush and highlighter for the evening. My bronzer will, of course, be the Liz Earle Radiant Glow Bronzer. I love the colour of this and the effect it gives my skin. I have never known it to go wrong. For blush, I tend to go for more coral shades on holiday. This year I would probably pack the Benefit Galifornia Blush or the Models Own Rock n Rosy ‘Coral Petal’ blush. Both shades are quite subtle, but could be built up if needs be. As for highlighter, My favourite one for warmer weather is Urban Decay’s Afterglow Highlighter in Firebird. It’s so pretty and a really subtle colour for that lovely Summer glow.

As for eyeshadow, I have in the past packed a large eyeshadow palette to give me a few options. However, if I’m keeping things quite light, I am just going to pack one or two single eyeshadows. The best ones are the Nars Dual Intensity Eyeshadows. There are so many different shades that you could pick a few for your own personal preferences. For me that would be turquoise or gold. These shades just look so beautiful in warmer weather.

With mascara, since I tend to just wear mascara at night and not when I’m swimming, I don’t bother bringing waterproof mascara. I like to wear something that gives length to my lashes, so I would pack the Lancome Monsieur Big mascara, which has been my favourite everyday mascara at the moment. It is gorgeous.

I tend to get my eyebrows tinted and waxed before a holiday, so I won’t pack anything for them. My only other bits of makeup are lipsticks.

I like to pack two or three; usually they’re all glossy finishes. I would choose from the Clinique Pop Glazes, Bare Minerals Gen Nude Radiant Lipsticks or the Urban Decay Vice Cream Lipsticks. All of these ranges have a variety of shades and are all quite reasonably priced for high end lipsticks. I tend to go for coral shades or reds on holiday, but that’s just me.

And that is what I would pack in my holiday makeup bag. What are you taking away on yours?

Have a lovely day guys!
