Makeup for a Romantic Getaway

Hi everyone! How are you all this morning?

A few days ago I went away to Glasgow with Mark and we actually had a really nice time. The hotel was beautiful and it was the perfect length of time to be away for a first holiday.

I will be doing a post on the clothing that I took away with me, but today I wanted to share the makeup side of things. This may seem quite an excessive amount, but I did want options whilst I was away.

I managed to get everything into my Zoella tote bag. This is really deep and fits a lot of stuff in it. I was actually able to fit my haircare and medication in this too.

For my base, I kept my skincare exactly the same as what I would normally do at home. I know it works, and it’s a great base for my makeup. As for primer, I wanted something light that would still reduce my pores, so I chose the Lancome La Base Pro. It just feels so beautiful and luxurious without clogging up your skin. As for foundation, I have two; a day and night one. For my daytime foundation, I have the Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation. I always used to wear this on holiday; I can trust it to withstand hot conditions and still looks pretty and natural. For the night time, I have a new product; YSL’s Youth Liberation Serum Foundation. This feels amazing on the skin and a little goes a long way. Again, this lasts a long time on the skin but still looks natural and dewy. As for concealers and powders, they are the same ones from my regular routine.

As for giving my face some colour, I used my current favourite bronzer; Bare Minerals’ Invisible Bronzer; and two blush shades. For day time use, I brought Becca’s Flowerchild (which has Champagne Pop highlighter in the compact with it) and Lancome’s Rose Paradis, which is a very vibrant pink, for the evening.

Even though we were only away for three days, I wanted options for my eyes. I always improvise at the last moment, even if I have planned a look days ahead. I took both of the new Bare Minerals Palettes. These are so beautiful and really blendable. I love working with them, especially the shimmer shades. They are stunning! To compliment them, I brought along to of the Stila Metallic Liquid Eyeshadows.

As for brows, I was unable to get them tinted so I got them threaded for the very first time, and brought a Benefit Precisely Brows to make them a touch darker. For mascaras, I brought along Lancome’s Monsieur Big and PUR’s Triple Threat. You guys know how I used both of these by now.

As for lips…. I may have gone overboard! I brought along a few neutrals, a vibrant pink and some vampy shades. And since there was going to be some kissing on this holiday, I made sure that all of my lipsticks were transfer proof.

I’ll be the first to admit that I may have brought too much, but at least I had enough to have a play around.

I hope that you’re all having a lovely day.

Take care!
