In my campaign to use up my many, many lip products, today I used a very old favourite. Remember a few years ago when Anna and Lily raved about the Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencils. Well… I fell for the hype. As well as today’s lip product I had several others. They are a beautiful product, but I prefered other products in my collection. The others went on a journey, however I kept hold of this one.
The shade Dolce Vita is beautiful. It applies really creamily but does look matte. It’s a lovely warm brown terracotta shade that would flatter a fair few skin tones. The lip pencils do retail at £19, and although I did get rid of a fair few of the shades that I owned, I still think that the formula is worth the price.
These do last a long time on the lips, although they will smudge slightly through the day if you are not careful. They do apply matte, but they don’t dry down, so be very careful if you do have a date or plan on eating a burger.
This is a shade that I plan on using more over the next few months. Today I teamed this up with the Too Faced Natural Love Palette, using the shades Makeup & Chill and Honeymoon. I created the wing using the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner, although I think that my eyes are becoming slightly too hooded to pull off dramatic wings. I may need to tone them down in the future.
What lipstick have you rediscovered lately?
