Cool Neutrals Makeup Tutorial

Hi guys! How are you all today?

This is the first attempt at playing with makeup since dying my hair. I’ve been doing a lot of warm toned looks lately, so I wanted to try a cool-toned look for a change.

For foundation, I used something that I really should use more; Bourjois’ Healthy Mix Foundation. This gives a beautiful glowy finish which I love. I used the matching concealer under my eyes to hide any dark circles. My base was set into place using the Makeup Forever Ultra HD Powder.

To contour, I used the lighter contour shade from the Smashbox Step by Step Contour Stick Trio under my cheekbones and along my jawline. These blend out really softly, adding just a subtle bit of shadow. I set this using the Marc Jacobs Light Filtering Contour Powder, which helped darken up that area a touch.

For bronzer, I dusted a light coat of the Dior Air Nude Bronzer above the contour and down my neck and added a touch of the Urban Decay After Hour Blush in Video to the apples of my cheeks.

As a finishing touch, I highlighted my cheekbones and cupid’s bow using Model’s Own Sculpt and Glow Highlighter in Golden Sand, which is still one of my all-time favourite highlighters.

Since most of my brow products are now too dark, I had to reach deep into my draw to find an ashy coloured one. Luckily I still had a light pencil from Bare Mineral’s, and ran this through the hairs before using Fleur de Force’s Brow Gel to set them in place.

As for shadow, I took Too Faced’s Natural Love Palette, and dusted the shade Heaven across my lid. In the crease I used the shades Lace Teddy and Nudie to darken this area up slightly, before adding Makeup & Chill. These all blended really well together, leaving no harsh lines.

On my lid, I used the shade Smokin’ on the outer part of my eye, stopping 3/4 of the way in. On the missing part of the lid I applied the shade Moonbeam. On my lower lash line I used a generous amount of the shade Don’t Settle, smoking this out using a touch more of Nudie.

For lashes I used the Lancome Monsier Big.

To finish off the look, I used the shade Swag from Bare Mineral’s Gen Nude Liquid Lip line. This is such a beautiful colour.

What are your favourite shades to play with?

Have a lovely day guys!
