I needed a small amount of retail therapy the other day and bought a few things. I bought all of these items at the Metro Centre from Boots, Debenhams and Superdrug. I did visit TK Maxx too, and you have no idea how much I needed to pull back. There was so many amazing things there! However, these are the things that I did end up buying at the Metro Centre.
You guys know that I’m a sucker for a free gift, and Clinique always has amazing ones. This time you got a few skincare bits as well as a lippie and eyeshadow palette if you bought three items. Clinique do some of my favourite lipstick formulas, so I bought one of the cool Jonathon Adler collection lipsticks in Santorini Pop, which is a beautiful cool toned plum shade. It is right up my street and I will be wearing this shade a lot come the Autumn and Winter months. I also bought one of the Jonathon Adler Blush Pops in Peach Pop. I think that Clinique has had this colour in it’s main collection, but I love the cool maze design on the packaging and the blush. It’s something really different for Clinique, and I love it! My final item was a cleanser; the Take The Day Off Oil Cleanser. I love oil based cleansers and since my Body Shop one ran out, I wanted to give something else a try. This is a huge bottle so hopefully it lasts me a while. I will review this in the next few weeks.
PS- I haven’t included my freebies here just to keep the post short, but here’s a photo of the really impressive free gift.
I was thrilled to discover that I had £30 worth of points on my Advantage Card, and I really needed a new eye cream. I found the Skin Longevity Eye Gel for £23 which I was thrilled with. I have used it for the first time today and it did make a little bit of difference to the dry patches under my eyes. Only time will tell. I am definitely going to continue using this since Bare Minerals’ skincare range is some of my favourites.
Kat Von D
I felt a bit naughty and bought three more Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks. I really love my deep plummy pinks and reds at the moment, so I treat myself to the shades Bachelorette, Mother and Bauhaus. All of these shades are stunning, and you know that I love the formula already. These are still one of my favourite formulas for long-wearing liquid lipsticks.
I bought two items from L’oreal; unfortunately not at the same shop (there was a 3 for 2 offer on at Superdrug and didn’t know). I first purchased the new Paradise Extatic mascara after hearing brilliant reviews about it in the states. So far, this is amazing. It is very similar to the Too Faced Better than Sex Mascara, so it’s actually great to finally have a cheap dupe for an old favourite.
The other L’Oreal items was purchased in Superdrug, and I got the new Brow Gel Pommade in Chatain. This is the ideal shade for blondes who want a more ashy tone to their brow hairs. It applies beautifully and looks really natural. This is something that I’m going to really enjoy using.
Tanya Burr Cosmetics
I only bought one thing from Tanya’s line, and that is the Face Illuminator. I used this as a primer before my foundation today and it does add a very subtle glow to the skin. It applies really well, although it did cling to some drier patches on my skin. I might try mixing this with a foundation and see if I can get my skin to glow to the heavens.
What have you treat yourself to this month? Have a lovely day guys, and take care.
