Christmas Party Makeup Tutorial

Hi everyone; how are you all today?

Christmas is finally here! And it’s party season.

My Weightwatchers group had a christmas party the other night. It was an awesome night and a lot of fun was had by all.

Today I wanted to share the makeup look that I wore for the party. I will be doing other looks throughout the month, but I wanted to start with a look that I actually wore to a party.

For my base I used the Kat Von D Lock-It Hydrating Primer mixed with the Kat Von D Lock-it Foundation. These blended out really well and looked very natural, however it was full coverage. Under my eyes I then used a small amount of the matching Kat Von D Concealer, setting into place with my old faithful Makeup Forever Ultra HD Powder.

I do still have a bit of colour from my holiday so I did need a warmer bronzer. I buffed the Bare Minerals Invisible Bronzer into my usual figure of three, but took it further down my neck to blend into my chest.

For blush, I used Nars’ Impassioned Blush. This looks so natural and adds a very subtle flush of colour to the cheeks. I didn’t want too much colour since my eyes were going to be really bold.

To highlight, I used the Makeup Forever Soph X Highlighter palette. I used the lighter gold shade, buffing out onto my cheek bones.

I wanted to do a navy and silver smoky eye for the party. I did have to use three palettes to create the look.

I first took Kat Von D’s Chrysalis Palette, and the shade Lifelike to set my lid area. Then in the crease, I took the shade Glass Wing to act as a transition for the darker shades to blend into.

I then used the natasha Denona Purple Blue Palette shade Steel Blue, blending into the crease, creating a slight V in the outer corner. I then took ‘Chrysalis’ again, using the shade Tornay, buffing this into the outer corner.

I then took Sabbath from the Saints and Sinners palette to darken the outer edge even further. On the main lid, I then mixed Ministry and Entombed to create a deep blue base. I blended any harsh edges into the crease. To finish off the lid, I packed a small amount of Heaven with my finger onto the lid.

In my waterline I used the Rodial Eye Pencil to darken the lower lash line, and added the same shades from my upper lash line, blending them out to look really soft.

For my lashes, I used the L’Oreal Lash Paradise mascara to get really big and voluminous lashes.

For lipstick, I used a Lancome Red Lipstick. I’ve lost the shade name for this, but it’s a gorgeous tomato red shade.

I finished off the look with a black dress from Monsoon and my Mirina necklace, with some pearl drop earrings. My heels were from Next.

I really liked how the look turned out.

What sort of looks have you been wearing for your Christmas parties?

Have a lovely day guys
