First Impressions of New Releases (Maybelline and Morphe)

Hi everyone; how are you?

It’s been a couple of months since I splurged on a bit of makeup. Well, February was going to be that month where I treat myself. I bought a few things at the drugstore and I raided Depop for some bargains.

There were some things here that really impressed me, and others that were okay, but I’ll get to everything that I tried in due course.

Maybelline Superstay Foundation

I’ve seen this being hyped up on Youtube lately as one of the best full coverage foundations available at the drugstore. Not that I really need full coverage at the moment but I wanted to give it a try regardless.

This felt gorgeous on the skin and blended out really easily. Two pumps gave me a medium coverage and it dried down matte whilst still leaving a glow to the skin. It didn’t look flat. I did wear this for a few hours and it lasted really well without fading, but I’ll do a proper review later once I’ve used it a few times. First Impressions are good though!

Maybelline Master Fix Powder

I needed a new loose powder and I’d heard that this one is good. This is really finely milled and blended out so well. It left my skin matte without sticking to any dry flake patches. I really loved how this blended into my base to create a flawless finish, and my bronzer, blush and highlight all layered on top wonderfully.

Morphe x Jaclyn Hill Palette

I finally got it! I bought mine off Depop so it had a bit of useage; mainly swatches; which I don’t mind. The colours are stunning and I created a dark green grungy look. The colours blend well together and looked stunning.

I don’t want to put too much detail here because I will do a full review this month.

Maybelline Master Chrome Highlighter

I bought this on a recommendation from Jessica Braun who said it was her favourite highlighter. It gives me a very natural glow and didn’t really beam. It might just have a hard cast glittery spray on the product so I’ll keep using it until this wears away. So far though, this isn’t my new favourite beaming highlight.

Maybelline Lash Temptation

I’m still undecided about this. It does give long lashes but I’m not sure if my eyes were slightly irritated by it. The mascara looked fine and I’d love to experiment with it more so hopefully I’m not allergic.

Maybelline Brow Temptation

I bought this to see if it really will give me Microbladed looking brows. It didn’t. Honestly this is the same as any other brow pencil. I loved the finish but it wasn’t anything special.

So those are my first impressions of some newer releases. What new products have you tried recently and what we’re your thoughts?

Have a lovely day!
