February Favourites

I’m back with a regular monthly favourites. There is quite a lot of makeup here but I do have a couple of Netflix favourites too.

This is quite a busy one, so I’ll stop rambling and move onto the good stuff!

Lancome Blush Subtil in Rose Paradis

I have been loving a bright pink blush lately. This month I have gone between this blush and Charlotte Tilbury’s Love is the Drug. Both are a very similar colour in the end, but out of the two the Lancome one is my favourite. The colour blends out beautifully and looks really natural… or as natural as bright Barbie pink can be!

Morphe x Jaclyn Hill Palette

This will come as no surprise, but I have used this palette almost every day this month. The colour selection is gorgeous and the shades blend out like butter on the eyelids. With such a vast array of colours and finishes this really brought me out of my makeup slump in January, and made me want to be creative again. I love the shades Twerk and Queen. They are so beautiful. I just can’t think of anything bad to say about this palette; it’s gorgeous!

Netflix’s The Sinner

I finally finished this at the beginning of February. Oh my God, I loved it. I won’t spoil; anything, but I really wasn’t expecting it to end like that. The twists are very organic in this and it was such an awesome story. Don’t let the stories that people felt sick watching this put you off; I have a very queasy stomach when it comes to gore. This doesn’t have anything like that in here. There is one moment in the second to last episode that freaked me out but nothing too severe. It’s really worth a watch if you haven’t seen it already.

Chanel Lipstick in Adrienne

I’ve been wearing really natural looks for work lately, and this has been my lipstick of choice for work. The colour is a really pretty, wearable beige shade. I get really dry lips at this time of year, so liquid lipsticks and mattes do need to take a back-seat (much to Mark’s disappointment). This is such a creamy texture and feels amazing on dry lips.

Purple Heart Diamond Locket

Mark got me this for Valentines day. I absolutely love the design of it, and I really want to put a photo in it, however the photo collage that I created still made the photos too big. I will try again once I get paid. This is a beautiful silver necklace with a heart shaped purple diamond in the centre. It’s my sort of jewellery, and I wear it every day, except when I’m at work.

Bare Minerals Bare Pro Liquid Foundation

This is the only foundation that I have really reached for in the past few weeks. It feels amazing and I can trust it to last all day. It is a matte foundation, but you still don’t feel two-dimensional when you wear it; it has a very subtle glow within the formula. My skin always feels flawless when I wear it, and it is so long wearing. I find that makeup does apply seamlessly over this, and I can always guarantee a good makeup day when this is used as my base.

Violet Voss x Nicol Concilio Palette

I tend to wear this with the Jaclyn Hill palette. The shadows in here are beautiful and are ideal for days where you want something more natural. However there is a pop of blue and green if you do want to jazz things up a bit. Nicol did such an amazing palette, and it was this one that made me want to attempt to name my own shades and develop my own palette. These shades blend beautifully and are a delight to wear on the eyes.

Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in Mrs Mia Wallace

I’ve had this lipstick for a while however I haven’t really worn it that much. However, I wore it for Valentines Day, and it quickly became my go-to dark, sexy red. It applies beautifully and lasts a really long time. Yes it will transfer, but it’s still too gorgeous not to wear on dates. Like I say, dry lips have made me go for more glossy formulas; Mark has to deal with getting red lipstick on his face if he wants to kiss me!

Benefit Porefessional

You can’t beat the original formula. This was one of my favourite primers when I really started getting into makeup, and I recently repurchased it. The formula still feels amazing and it does such a good job and making my nose area look less porous. I’m unsure if this is causing a few breakouts around my nose, but I still love it regardless.

Maybelline x Gigi Hadid Fibre Mascara

This mascara is amazing if you have very minimal eyelashes, which I do. The white fibres attach to your natural lashes and somehow give extra length to your lashes. I don’t know how this witchcraft works, but it is amazing. The formula is really comfortable to wear and doesn’t cause my eyes to water, which I thought it would, considering it looked like cotton wool fibres going close to my eyes.

It’s Kind of a Funny Story

This was a film that I watched on Netflix. At first I thought it was going to be an offensive comedy based in a mental health hospital. My reasoning for this was because Zak Galifinakis is in it (Alan from The Hangover). Luckily I gave it a watch and it’s actually a really lovely story about a suicidal teenage boy who self admits himself to a mental health facility and starts to learn more about life whilst there. The ending does surprise me, and there’s some amazing characters in this. It was actually nice seeing Zak playing a serious part for a change, and he was fantastic. This really is worth a watch.

And those are all of my favourites this month. What have you been loving lately?

Have a lovely day guys, and take care.
