Disappointing Products

Hi guys, how are you all today?

Today I wanted to share some products that haven’t really impressed me lately. I was tempted to place a setting powder on here, however I’m still unsure whether this is what is causing my patchiness issues.

However, here are five products that didn’t wow me. I still love these brands, however my issues are with these particular products.

Smashbox Insta-Matte Gel

This looked so cool when it first came out; a gel that can turn your glossy lipsticks into matte ones. The concept is pretty awesome, however it didn’t really work well for me. The matte-ness worked, yes; unfortunately it’s a very smudgy formula so you had to be so careful when you applied it, otherwise you got a very splodgy lip look that was kind of a hot mess.

L’Oreal Crushed Foil Highlighter

This looks gorgeous in the pan. However, applied to the cheeks this is so chunky and full of glitter. It just didn’t look right. I also expected it to give a beautiful highlighted look. It hardly shows up on me, apart from the horrid chunks of glitter. This was a massive pass!

Urban Decay Quick Fix Spray

This is another setting spray from Urban Decay. It smells amazing, but that’s about it. I don’t feel like this makes much of a difference to the lasting power of my makeup, like what I find with the All-Nighter Spray. That thing works. I can’t really work out what Quick Fix is meant to do.

Maybelline Superstay 24H Foundation

As you can see from the bottle I gave this a real good go becfore I decided that I didn’t like it, and I really wanted to like it. This looks beautiful when you first apply it. However I found that as the day progressed my dry patches would start to show up and it would wear away in weird places. I really wanted to love this considering some of my favourite Youtubers with similar skin to mine loved it. However, we are all individuals, and what may work for one person, doesn’t necessarily work for the other.

Maybelline Chrome Metallic Highlighter

I’m so sorry Maybelline that you are on here twice. This was another really hyped up highlighter that boasted of blinded angel glow quality to the cheeks. However it just applied meh on me. Even after scraping away the hard layer didn’t make too much of a difference. I did get more of a glow, but not the blinding lights quality that I was expecting. I do still use this and it is pretty, but I expected more.

What products that got a lot of hype ended up disappointing you?

Have a lovely day guys and take care.
