Dark Holographic Eyeshadow Tutorial

Hi guys, how are you today?

Today I experimented with a couple of colours to create a black, purple and green holographic eye look. The end result looked pretty cool so I thought that I would share it with you guys today.

First I filled in my eyebrows with the Wunderbrow Gel, keeping this relatively light but still groomed (not that you can see much of my eyebrows at the minute; my fringe is that long).  I then used the black  Rodial Kohl Liner Pen to tightline my eyes.

I set the eye using the shade Daisy from Nicol Concilio’s Palette with Violet Voss.  For the crease, I didn’t want to go in with a straight matte black shadow, so I applied a few brown tones first. I took the shade Magical from the Dream St Palette from Colourpop, blending this really softly into the crease. Over this I then mixed the shades potion and Elfish to get a more red-toned brown. I blended this directly over Magical. Slightly underneath this, I ten took Retrograde from Nicol’s palette, blending this out really softly. I copied these shades under the eye too, keeping things as soft as I could with a black shadow.

On the lid I then pressed the shade Envy from Dose of Colours with my finger. This is a cream shadow and acted as a great base for the glittery shade. I set the black cream in place with a touch more of Retrograde, blending the edges into the crease. I then took the Barry M Meteor Palette and used the green shade, pressing this on top of Envy with my finger. This shade appears green, purple, brown or blue depending on the lighting. It’s by far my favourite holographic eyeshadow. To finish off the shadow, I took a small amount of NYC along the brow bone and my tearduct to highlight the eye slightly.

I finished off the eyes with a few coats of the Dior Plum n’ Volume mascara.

For lipstick, I kept things quite colourful with a light layer of Nars’ Audacious lipstick in Vera. I haven’t used this shade in ages, but it is so pretty. I’ll definitely be reaching for it again soon.

What do you think of the look?

Have a lovely day, and take care guys.
