April Birchbox

Hi guys, how are you all today. I know that I’m posting out of schedule today, but I just signed up to Birchbox again this month and wanted to share what was in mine.

This month’s box was a collaboration with Cath Kidston, and the packaging is beautiful. I may give this to my friend Lynz who is obsessed with this brand. She’ll probably find a use for it! Since I was a new subscriber, I did get a free gift, which did bulk up my box slightly.

Percy & Reed Reassuringly Firm Session Hold Hairspray

I haven’t used this yet, but I’m going to save this for Rome next month. I’ve had a little spritz and it smells amazing. I love the packaging and can’t wait to try this out properly. The full size of this retails at £12.50, which is more than what I would normally pay for a hairspray.

Marcelle BB Cream Golden Glow Illuminator

This advised that you could use this under makeup. It is a very thick consistency and does give the skin a very subtle glow, however I really didn’t like this. It felt really heavy on my skin and I didn’t like how my foundation applied on top of this. This may be better as a body highlighter to add some shimmer to your legs or arms. Normally this would retail at £25.50.

ModelCo Baked Blush – Moonshine

On my information card it stated that this would be a full sized item…. the one I got is a really tiny sample, and it was very difficult to get a brush into it. The effect is quite subtle on the skin at first, but after a few hours it did disperse and become very glittery. I might keep trying to use this with other highlighter brushes to see if I can get this to apply better. This would retail at £24.

Beautaniq Beauty Fill + Tame Brow Gel – Blonde

Finally! I have a tiny brow mascara that matches my hair colour! I actually really like this. The applicator is very easy to control and adds much needed colour and shape to my brows. The colour is quite ashy, but at the moment this matches my hair colour. I really like this, and may be tempted to pay the £8.60 for it again.

Cargo Blush- Sunset Beach

This was my free gift. I love the tin packaging and it’s an ideal size for my blush brush. It applies really well to the cheeks and is a gorgeous, subtle pink shade. This is the sort of shade that I like and I will continue to use this. This would normally retail at £28.

Spectrum Face Brush

This is a really lovely brush for highlighting or setting concealer under the eyes. It is so soft, and I love the design. I used this to apply some powder under my eyes and I loved it. It disperses the product really well. This retails at £7.99, and has tempted me to try other brushes in the range.

Cath Kidston Hand Cream

The final product in the box is a hand cream. This is really thick and has a lovely floral scent. I use handcreams a lot at work so this will get used an awful lot in the future. This retails at £4 which isn’t too bad.

So that is everything in the box. There were certainly some hits and misses. If you get birchboxes, what did you receive in yours?

Have a lovely day guys and take care.
