Halloween is getting close, and I love this time of year. All the yummy Winter drinks start coming into Starbucks, darker makeup is a things, Lynz’s annual Halloween party…. there’s so much to look forward to.
To celebrate one of my favourite times of the year, I created a very warm-toned eyeshadow look with quite a dramatically thick cat-eye. I love how the look turned out, and I hope that you guys do too.
To start things off, I first primed my face with a mixture of the ELF Tone Adjusting Face Primer and Tanya Burr’s Face Illuminator. Over the top of this I blended out a light layer of the Dior Forever Foundation.
To conceal under my eyes I used the Bourjois Healthy Mix Anti-Fatigue Concealer, blending it out with a damp sponge. This concealer is actually really nice; it doesn’t sit in my wrinkles or fine lines. I set the eyes using the Makeup Forever Ultra HD Powder.
Before setting the rest of my face I used a couple of cream products. I first contoured using the Smashbox Contour Stick, buffing this out with a domed blending brush. On my cheeks, I applied the Lancome Cushion Blush in Sorbet Grenadine with a stippling brush. As for highlighting I then took the Nars Multiples Stick in Copacabana, applying this with my fingers.
Once I had set these in place using a bit more of the setting powder from earlier, I bronzed up my face using the Dior Nude Air Glow Powder in 01, and topped up my highlight with the lightest gold shade in the Soph X Makeup Revolution Highlighter Palette.
I had so much fun creating the eye look! I filled in my brows using the Bare Minerals Frame and Define Pencil, and set them with the Fleur de Force Brow Tamer.
As for eyeshadow, I took the Soph x Makeup Revolution Ultra Eyeshadows Palette. Taking the shade Penguin, I first set my eyes to make it easier for the shades to blend out. In my crease, I swept the shade Peaches, ensuring that there were no harsh lines. On the outer edge of my crease, I warmed this up slightly using the shade Pumpkin.
To darken the outer corner, I packed a light layer of the shade Nightmare onto the lid, softening it with the excess of Pumpkin on my fluffy brush. Then, to add a touch of sparkle, I packed a light coat of Festive Flame just slightly further into the lid, then used Sparks fly to fill in the rest of the lid. In my inner corner, I used a tiny amount of Pink Champagne.
On my lower lash line, I mixed the shades Nightmare and Pumpkin to create a soft dark orange shade.
To create the wing, I used the Body Shop’s Skinny Felt Eyeliner, keeping the outer part quite thick. I tightlined the lower lash line using the Smashbox Always Sharp Liner in Raven.
I did want to include a touch of glitter to this look, so I first took the shade Kitten karma from the Stila Magnificent Metals Collection, and applied this to the inner third of my eye, blending out the edges slightly. In my inner corner, I applied a touch of the shade Gold Goddess.
Finall, to finish off the eyes, I applied a few layers of the PUR Fully Charged Mascara to my upper lashes, and my old faithful Clinique Flutter to Full Mascara to the lower lashes.
Since the eyes were quite dramatic, I kept the lips neutral. I first applied the Smashbox Always On Liquid Lipstick in Dream Big as a base. I then topped this off with Makeup Revolution’s new lipgloss in Unicorn Dreams. This is a holographic lip topper and it’s beautiful! I have been using this as a lip topper almost every day since buying it. It’s so pretty!
So that is my very glittery Autumnal look. I will be posting a Halloween Tutorial based on my Halloween Costume this year. Me and mark are thinking about going as Jack and Sally from Nightmare Before Christmas. But I will post that nearer Halloween.
Have a lovely day guys, and take care.
